Kini sudah mulai muncul tambak yang menggunakan plastik sebagai pembatas sekaligus lantainya, dan menggunakan sumur bor sebagai sumber airnya. Dilengkapi dengan kincir air, lampu., dan genset untuk menjaga kondisi udang atau ikan tetap selalu terpantau sepanjang waktu.
