With an increasing transaction costs and slower transaction times, Bitcoin is not what it once was.
When Satoshi originally invented Bitcoin, he created it as an easy to use secure peer to peer payment system where money could be transferred anywhere in the world almost instantly without costly bank fees.
Today, Bitcoin is no longer an efficient way to transfer large sums of money due to the high transaction fees. It is still decentralized although banks are cheaper to use in many instances. Additionally it is o longer an instant network. Bitcoin is now one of the slower cryptocurrencies which is valued very high but has less utility than ever before. These are Roger Ver' arguments at least as to why Bitcoin is no longer the real Bitcoin.
Who is Roger Ver, and why does his opinion Matter?
Roger Ver, was one of the first early adopters of Bitcoin and was very generous with it giving away large amounts of Bitcoin. Ver is a libertarian, anarcho-capitalist, advocate for peace, free markets, individualism, and voluntaryism. Ver advocated for Bitcoin and invested heavily in it. He was the owner of the first store to accept Bitcoin, is CEO of Bitcoin.com and is now a multi millionaire because of his investments. Ver recently started supporting Bitcoin Cash as the "real" Bitcoin however due to its supposed technical advantages. Bitcoin Cash he says is now much better at doing what Bitcoin was supposed to do according to the Satoshi White Paper.
Recently more and more people have been supporting Bitcoin Cash as it is a good replacement for fiat currency like the US Dollar. Bitcoin also known as Bitcoin core they believe will be a good store or long term value but has little utility in other areas. Many small businesses now accept Bitcoin Cash and the price is rising significantly. Roger Ver says that he now holds most of his wealth in Bitcoin Cash.
I'm still somewhat skeptical. I do believe that Bitcoin Cash is better although I hold alot of my money in Bitcoin still. I would suggest diversifying your portfolio and buying Bitcoin Cash however as many see it becoming "the new Bitcoin" much in the way that the old Ethereum became Ethereum Classic while the new version succedded and increased in price rapidly.
Anyways, its just food for thought. Let me know what you think-
Also, come on. You have to admit that the Bitcoin Cash logo is cooler
