I agree with you ekynou that bitcoin mining is a waste of energy. Citizens in developing continents like Africa and South America had been struggling with intermittent electrical consumptions because power stations in that countries do not have the infrastructure to cope with demand in using electricity.

I was surprised to read that a Bitcoin transaction is equivalent to a house with a month's electricity supply. The authorities really need to do something about this or else there will be blackout apocalypse where chaos will thrive in the future.
