The Blush family’s “Dash Across America Tour” in its Bitcoin Bus was denied assistance from a Las Vegas bitcoin organizer in setting up a meetup in Las Vegas because of the tour’s support for Dash.
Catherine Bleish, an organizer of the tour, noted in a Steemit blog that the tour was not able to confirm a time and date for a Las Vegas meetup because of its support of Dash. She noted she was not able to post a notice on the Las Vegas Bitcoin Facebook page about an impromptu gathering.
Bleish nonetheless posted a notice in her blog about a meetup including a dash giveaway on Fremont Street in Las Vegas on August 20.
Bleish, John Bush, their two children, and their two dogs are touring the U.S. with the intention of educating and informing people they about cryptocurrencies and how to use them. They are educating people about bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dash, and about the value of peer-to-peer technologies and decentralized social organization in their Bitcoin Bus home.
Las Vegas Organizer Opposes Dash
Bleish noted a Las Vegas bitcoin organizer would not support the tour based on the belief that Dash is a scam. She noted that in 2014, the Las Vegas organizers were very supportive of the Bitcoin Bus and helped them plan a bitcoin-only tour stop.
Bleish posted a conversation she had with an organizer, Julian Tosh.
Tosh said the response was not personal, but the tour’s support and promotion of Dash does not motivate him to share his social networks. Tosh noted he opposes supporting altcoins.
Bleish responded that she believes people should have a chance to meet the tour and discuss their concerns.
Tosh replied that he does not support Dash because it is an “instamine scam with no innovation.” He said its anonymity comes from coinjoin and that its masternodes are subject to sybil attacks.

Dash Debate Ensues
Bleish responded by giving examples of what she considers Dash innovation. Tosh said he was not silencing dialog, but only declining to give access to his resources.
The Blush family organized its 2014 tour after the then-editor of Bitcoin Magazine, Ruben Alexander, asked them to try a trip they were taking – the Porcupine Freedom Festival in New Hampshire – to use bitcoin only, CCN reported.
With three cross-country trips utilizing bitcoin over 2014 and 2015, the family traveled more than 14,000 miles in their bitcoin van over a nine-week period visiting 26 states with only a few mishaps on their first trip.
As they embarked on their 2016 bitcoin tour across America, the family decided to make an entire advocacy lifestyle out of it and plan on hitting all 50 states on their Bitcoin Bus. This time, though, they added altcoins.
Didn't somebody already create a cryptocurrency for Las Vegas called VegasCoin?
