Yes, majority of bitcoin holders are holding it as an investment, not for usage. But over time this ratio will probably shift. Now the question is whether the amount of "usage by new users" will exceed the total amount "held by investors as of today". I think in the long run, it will. But I think it might be very long long run, and there will be a lot of bumps on the road meanwhile.
