Bitcoin new at facebook banned Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies this week in an advertising announcement. The move was necessary (many ads on the social network really are peddling snake oil), but it was horribly executed.
The main issue is that the ban sends the wrong message. At worst, Facebook is suppressing potential innovation of future technology. At best, Facebook is being lazy and unwilling to properly police its own ads. Facebbok simply wnat to help their user.

I doubt very much that Facebook's goal is to help their users. There goal is to sell their users to their clients (the advertisers). They have been making some attempts to limit this recently in order to raise the price they can charge. In the end they'll take the money for the ads. I agree they may stop taking ads for some of the more flagrant scammers/ponzi schemes, but they'll raise the price on the rest to make up for it. Also they maybe worried about class action lawsuits.

But in future they will surly allow once again. They just ban because of volatility in cryptocurrency. Lets see what happens in future.
