Bitcoin pillow?

The rise of Bitcoin inspired me to find out more about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology and that led me to discover Steemit. I have been thinking of doing some projects that would combine my passion for sewing and optimism for this future.

To begin with, I made this simple pillow for Bitcoin aficionados.

If you would like to make this yourself, here are the steps involved. I hope you like it.

Supplies:
Anti-pill fleece in orange color
HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl) in white color
Fabric shears
Pinking shears
Sewing clips or pins and
Polyester fiberfill

Step 1 - cut 2 circles and cut 2 strips measuring half of the circumference of circle needed for the pillow. Add ½” extra to each strip for seam allowance. Join the strips together so that it will form a ring.

Step 2 - cut decals from HTV. I used my Cricut explore air 2 to cut bitcoin symbol and the blockchain image. Once cut, weed them with a weeding tool and iron it on.

Step 3 – pin one circle to the strip with right sides together and sew around with ¼” seam allowance. Don’t forget to backstich at the start and end to lock the stitches. Do the same for the other side making sure to leave a 1”-2” gap so that you can turn it right side out.

Step 4 – cut the seam allowance in ½ with pinking shears to reduce the bulk in seams.

Step 5 – turn the pillow right side out and stuff it with polyester fiberfill. After stuffing, close the gap with a whipstitch.

And that’s it!

As always...when in doubt, just Craft and Sew!
