UK Wants Internet Regulated - Time For Decentralized Internet?

I wanted to start off with a quote by Ben Franklin. Franklin knew back then what was to come of our society. Slowly little by little with these events they are slowly taking away our freedom. Like frogs being boiled alive, we are turning into a society where only our thoughts are private; and even with todays technology, even that is being threatened. This sick woman Theresa May and the rest of these oligarchic elite are trying to take control of the internet now.

"New international agreements should be introduced to regulate the internet in the light of the London Bridge terror attack," Theresa May has said.

Calling regulations on the internet so they can watch internet "safe space." as if they don't already watch everything that happens online. Now they just wanna do it right under your nose. If these well funded groups use the internet, im pretty sure they use the dark web and not the sheeps internet.

So is it time for a decentralized internet? Is it time for a Maidsafe type program to emerge? Is it time for us to stand up and say we will not have our freedom taken away from us any longer?

That is a good quote, haven't seen it in awhile!! Appreciate seeing it again :)

We do need an encrypted internet or something so they can't just kill it. Decentralized and hidden/anonymous is my kinda internet.

I liked and followed you, appreciate the same!! !

Hell ya!

Id would be really cool if it happened.

I'm not sure how a decentralized internet would work (other than the dark web that is already out there). Anything the powers that be cannot control or profit off of gets labeled as "threats to national security" or something of the like. Great post nonetheless.

Man I have no idea how they could pull it off. I'm not a coder. But where there is a will, there is a way.

I'm from the uk and I'm so tired of my government. You USA guys think you have it bad? Try my country, where the goverment can legally, and without a warrant hack any phone or computer and download or monitor it's contents. Disgusting! It's why I don't vote, between the Authoritarian Left and the Authoritarian Right there just isn't any point. Either way it's an assault to our personal freedoms.

Wow are you serious? I didn't know it was that bad. Im sorry to hear that. What are the gun laws like over there? With everything happening, I hope everyone has a means to protect themselves and their families.

The gun laws here are essentially you can have a gun for sporting purposes ONLY. Self defence is not a valid reason to have a gun and you will end up in prison if you end up using it for a home invasion. All pistols are banned, all semi auto rifles are banned with the exception of .22 rifles and semi auto shotguns and the process of acquiring a firearm is a long tedious task. Incedently, on home invasions, you are likely to end up in prison if the guy gets killed, even if you feel threatened. And if you hurt him, he can sue you and claim loss of earnings. Yeah... the uk, not exactly a bastion of personal freedom anymore. It's why so many of us move the America haha.

Yikes. good luck brotha. stay safe.
