American teenager Erik Finman made a bet with his parents. The bet reads: if he succeeds in becoming a billionaire at the age of 18, then his parents do not have to force him to go to college.

Though it sounds ridiculous, the bet can be realized. At the age of 18, Erik can now earn billions.

Where can he do that?

It all started when Erik decided to buy bitcoin at the age of 12. In 2011, he earned a prize of US $ 1,000 from his grandmother. Instead of spending it on toys, Erik decided to spend the money to buy Bitcoin.

At the same time, Erik also felt very frustrated with his school. He also ventured to ask out of school to his parents and promised to make his own money.

"My days when high school was very unpleasant, I was surrounded by negative teachers, and one of the teachers even told me to quit school and work at McDonald's because he saw my ability only there," Erik told CNBC on Monday (26). / 6/2017)

"Yes, at least he's rightly told me to get out of school," he continued.

Unexpectedly, both parents agree with Erik's idea. The boy then racked his brain to be able to earn his own income. He eventually sold his bitcoin which was then worth US $ 1,200 per piece.

With the money he owned, he then launched an online education company called Botangle. Unfortunately, his young age made Erik much ostracized while trying to offer his homemade technology in Sillicon Valey.

"I met with high-ranking officials at Uber's company, but it's hard for them to take seriously 15-year-old businesspeople, and even get kicked out and sent back to my parents," he concluded.

Armed with unyielding souls, homemade technology also get buyers in 2015. The investor offers Erik to choose paid using money or bitcoin. From there, he chose to take bitcoin despite having a smaller value.

"My parents asked me why I did not choose to be paid using the money, but I'm sure this bitcoin can be useful as an investment," Erik said.

Prediction is not missed. Thanks to the bitcoin he has, now he can reap huge amounts of wealth. Erik was even busy to organize his family's bitcoin investment business.

At other times, this one teenager also works for some prestigious projects with NASA to develop rockets. Thanks to his achievements, he made it into the list of the world's most influential teenagers of the Times.

The number of bitcoins Erik has now reached 403 pieces with valuations reaching US $ 1.09 million or equivalent to Rp 14.5 billion.

a lucky shot and very unexpected higher gain in bitcoin as ever was thought doesn't make you a genius at all.. it only makes you rich.. he followed his feeling which paid off. but you need to proof yourself over and over to be called succesfull... starting projects and company's with the money and reinvesting it is the most logical way as I see it since you have the capital to hire and attract the ones with the specific skills to do it ... I don't see this kid as a genius.. I see him more as a person thinking like a grown up more than others and he may had some advice too I mean 1000 dollar for a 12 year old seems a lot while it actually is 75% of what I need to pay each month
