Bitmain is looking to put 90,000 Antminer S9 into operation before the BCH hard fork

in bitcoin •  6 years ago

Prior to the BCH hard fork, Bitmain hastened to put into operation around 90,000 Antminer S9 miners. The main target is the Xinjiang region of western China, where many crypt mining farms are located.

Mining operator Yu Hao told DeepChain that Bitmain had talks with "almost all" local mining farms. Since October, the hardware manufacturer has tried to convince local miners to host nearly 90,000 S9 Anthmins:

"AntPool has requested that only one mining farm host more than 5,000 cars. But in fact, only a few mining farms can satisfy such demand. "

An anonymous source "familiar with the problem" argued that

"Half of Bitmain's marketing staff went to Xinjiang to talk to local mining operators about equipment hosting."

Excess electricity from coal-rich regions, such as Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia, have made their favorite mining locations. Companies like Bitmain use more power than hydroelectric power stations in southwest China can produce.

The BCH hardcore conflict is intensifying

Crypto Bitmint hardware manufacturer is one of Bitcoin's major supporters. The company said it would support the upgrade version of BCH Bitcoin ABC.

Scalability proposals proposed by ABC have seen strong opposition from the camp led by Craig S. Wright. It self-proclaimed "Satoshi Nakomoto" and launched a concurrent version of the Bitcoin Cash upgrade called Bitcoin SV.

So far, major mining pools such as BTC.com, AntPool, Btc.top, ViaBTC, Bitcoin.com have supported Bitcoin ABC.

CoinGeek, rated as the largest mining pool Bitcoin Cash, BMG and SBI said they will support the Bitcoin SV version.

Some Chinese miners intend to start using the Bitcoin SV version as early as November 10 as "heating" until the BCH hard fork is officially built.

This week, Wright has emphasized the conflict with sabotage statements made on Twitter. According to his allegations, Bithoin SV miners can handle bare blocks by using hashpower, stop processing transactions.

Wright claims that these activities "part of the protocol" and can not be prevented.

Some members of the BCH community believe that Wright's statements are a bluff meant to scare supporters of Bitcoin ABC. Others believe that Wright is capable of implementing such attacks to prove he has power and influence.

What a stupidity as the world is falling apart. Money, even digital one, can't fix the earth.
