Virtual millionaire loses the bankbook!

A good few years ago before the birth of my second son I had this great idea. I always have great ideas. This might sound far fetched but I thought up Facebook before there was a Facebook. Unfortunately the domain had gone when I searched in 2002 and it wasn't a social network. Anyway... Great ideas man... Terrible doer.

I was sat on the sofa looking at my laptop and had this great idea to use computing power as a currency. My wife being the realist asked me to look and see if the idea was already out there. Low and behold it was. I was reading the next day at work about a new crypto-currency called Bitcoin. It was payday and I found someone selling 10,000 bitcoins for £50. Why not I thought. I didn't know much about the technology so I made no backup of my wallet. I do remember saying to my colleague, if it ever gets to £1 I'll be £10,000 richer. That episode was just prior to us moving buildings. Now the wallet was either on my computer in the office I used to reside in or it was in an online Bitcoin exchange. I do remember looking at the marketplace at the price. I believe at the time it was something like $0.008. The PC that was in that office was scrapped many years ago. The Bitcoin exchange was hacked and they have all gone. I have lost. That is all. Now I am scraping for pennies trying to find the next meal. We have threats to take us to court because our mortgage is in arrears. This is a crazy world sometimes. I shall just wait for the next big idea to miss.
