With 50 Cent's Animal Ambition hitting stores yesterday, the rapper has become one of the first musicians in the Hip Hop community to accept Bitcoins as a payment method.
According to Coin Desk, the Queens native's Shopify site will accept the payment along with combinations of bitcoins and actual cash. The digital currency has caught the attention of other artists including Snoop Dogg, Mel B and Childish Gambino.
All have toyed with the idea of accepting bitcoins as payment for album sales.
I hope it starts a trend among musicians.
