Well in my opinion the real reason was the grinch! He single handed stole cryptmas and made sure things crashed! This is probably a good time to buy though since he tends to give back everything he took and then some, once his heart grows 3 sizes in a single day!
He puzzled and puzzed till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. Maybe Cryptmas, he thought... doesn't come from a store. Maybe Cryptmas, perhaps... means to the MOON!

I guess It's kinda the opposite of the so called "santa rally" we see in the stock market each year. But I used it as an opportunity to buy the dip as did many others apparently. When Bitcoin dropped down to $12k it only stayed that low for about an hour meaning there's lots of eager buyers waiting to get in at a good price. I paid about $13k per coin which is fine with me.
I also have the feeling some people may have taken profits and waited for the drop to increase their position size by buying back in lower with those realized gains.
But yeah, that old grinch....he could've meddled in our crypto affairs as well lol.
