Help me get somebody started with Bitcoin:

Looking for advice not donations:

One of my work colleagues (62 years) is interested in diversifying some of his savings into Bitcoin. He has entrusted me to educate him about it. For me, this is a great challenge, if we can convince people such as this, that Bitcoin is simple and safe to use, then we are winning the battle towards widespread adoption.

Now I need to be clear. My goal is not to convince him that Bitcoin is great, I am not trying to persaude him . But....I need to educate him. So I am reaching out to the community here for some help. What are the best tutorials, links, wallets, advice..etc that you would recommend for me to provide him with? He doesn't need to know about mining.

I want him to be informed not confused. This is an educated man, but not a super-techy guy.

Thanks in advance for all your help, looking forward to reading your replies.

I put together a few guides here: http://cryptomoms.com/forum/guides/31/ Probably a good place to start is the one about Coinbase.

Let me know if he has specific questions about how to use specific sites/services. That will give me an idea for a guide to post here on Steemit :)

IMHO, he needs to know about mining, preferably alt-coins using strong PC's to profit (even old PCs can be used as long as the CPU and GPU is strong). It is not so hard now as it was in the past because most softwares and tutorials now are user-friendly. Here's a list of bitcoin scams sites to avoid. http://www.badbitcoin.org/thebadlist/.

Umm, I dont think he is interested in mining. The OP even said that.

Following. I would like to hear some recommendations for the best Bitcoin wallet.

I would say the biggest question which needs to be answered is "where to store the coins"? Do you utilize a 'trusted' 3rd party such as coinbase or blockchain, or download your own wallet? One is easier but the other is ultimately safer...This for me would be the biggest concern as a rookie bitcoiner.
