October I started running the minergate app on my 8 old cell phones. lol. mostly monero and some bytecoin usually combined H/S is around 100 when they are on. I put really zero effort and I now have .015 monero and 100 bytecoin. It's not much but it beats sitting in a box. I have not tried to transfer out , this was just a experiment. I know very little about mining so thanks for the post.

Agreed. I ran my computer with a semi-decent video card for 1 week and got .07 monero and a bunch of other coins.
But if you want some real money, you do have to invest in a gpu
