Just six years ago in 2011, a teenager from Idaho in the USA, decided to invest in Bitcoin when the value was just $12 per coin. He received a monetary gift from his grandmother and a hot tip from his brother to buy Bitcoin which prompted him to invest in cryptocurrency.

 

Erik Finman sold his first Bitcoin investments at the end of 2013, at $1,200 per coin, and launched an online education company called Botangle in 2014 with the proceeds. Botangle connected frustrated students like him to find teachers on video chat. He managed to find a buyer for Botangle's technology in January 2015 and was offered either $100,000 or 300 Bitcoin. At the time, the Bitcoin price had dropped to $200 per coin and was far less than the cash value offered. However, in true Bitcoin Believer fashion, he took the lower cash value Bitcoin deal. Excellent decision.

 

Erik Finman hated school so much that he made a bet with his parents in 2013. The Bet was that should he be a millionaire by 18 he would not be forced to go to college - he won! He now has over 400 Bitcoins worth over $1,000 000 and will not be returning to school.

"Personally I think bitcoin is going to be worth a couple hundred thousand to a million dollars a coin," he said to CNBC
