Peter Wuille has submitted a BIP (Bitcoin Improvement Protocol) to include Schnorr Signatures to the Bitcoin network.
This means at least 25% less bandwidth required for Bitcoin transactions.
While the idea is not new to the market (it's nearly a year in the making, ever since SegWit split), it's nice to see the progress. Undoubtedly, it will have big implications to the speed of Bitcoin transactions.
