Scams Scams and More Scams

About the only thing hurting bitcoin lately is the rash amount of scams that happen with it. Anything from ponzi programs to fake mining sites and just flat out scams asking for bitcoin donations etc are really dampening the industry. While this has been going on for years its gotten worse in terms of how much money or value people are scammed out of.

To me these clear violation of criminal activity are whats hurting bitcoin at the moment and impeding its growth. I really wish people where smarter with their money and took responsibility for their actions or well just stopped creating such trash sites but non of those things will ever happen. Which is why I still believe bitcoin and crypto in general needs some type of "security" a goverment agency able to go in and lock these people up or worse repercussions.

Or perhaps even some way of doing it within the blockchain itself a "voted reversal per say"

It might not seem like much and I know people will say ah its been happening for years. But it takes years for these cases to come up and show after they have taken place. Also much more fiat money is now involved or "value" After a period of time it will damage the reputation and name of Bitcoin as being oh that currency people use to scam everyone out of money. Something does need to be done about this and to me the only way that something will be done is with regulations and goverment involvement I am sorry to say but I see no other way do you?

What are you views on this? Do you feel these scams are really starting to harm the name and reputation of bitcoin?

Scams are everywhere..it's hard for nobs to come in...

and to me the only way that something will be done is with regulations and government involvement I am sorry to say but I see no other way

Yes, it's all by design...jmho. I expect there are bogus scams in place by derailers to bring you to the 'breaking point' with the comment above.

Sadly, money is the root of everything evil. It brings out the worst in the best of people. At its core, in many cases, is corruption. So, no surprises that BTC, the optimum crypto asset, is targeted for easy scams.

Don't apologize for sharing your perception of the truth. The writing is on the wall. It makes a case for why the government gets to be in the mix of everything; being because, people and entities via corruption, seek to own the wealth, even if it means being like crabs in a bucket to getting rich.

Best regards.

Peace.

All these Scam projects and fake forks only harm bitcoin and the entire crypto-industry as a whole. Of course, we need regulation to bring order and transparent and clear rules. Serious investors will not come while the legal situation will remain muddy.
But! As remarkable as the process is not regulated, if the main problem – scalability-is not solved, institutional investors will not invest in what is not working aright.

Your observation is interesting. The way that people use crypto-currency will determine its fate.

For this reason I believe STEEM will have a better long term fate than Bitcoin as it was designed to be a mechanism for curating content. The coin is doing something that STEEM holders want to see done.

Unfortunately, cyber currency (just like fiat currencies) are dependent on the willingness of people in the future to accept the coin. If people see the cyber-currency world as a scam; then they will not be willing to do transactions in the currency and the currencies might collapse.

People who want cyber-currency to succeed need to take a two pronged approach. People must work together to reduce the number of scams while also trying to create positive mechanisms for using the currency.

What an excellent job you have just I love I hope to have your support it is good to appreciate an impeccable work and I hope to have your support

You have a minor misspelling in the following sentence:

a goverment agency able to go in and lock these people up or worse repercussions.
It should be government instead of goverment.
