How to install a Bitcoin miner in a home
Ever wondered what it takes to set up your own small-scale Bitcoin mining farm at Home?
Bitcoin mining can be a great investment when done right. However, small-scale home mining isn't as profitable as it once was. Everyday, new large-scale mining farms are entering the cryptocurrency mining space. In addition, the rising cost of electricity and mining difficultly add to home miners taking lower profits than in the past. This is why many home miners have started turning more towards GPU mining of Alt coins vs. ASIC mining required by Bitcoin.
Large-scale operations meet this challenge by adding more and more mining machines to their farms. However, most of us can't afford large industrial spaces or hundreds of mining machines.
But, if you're an enthusiast like me, you'll still want to get your foot in the game.
Below is a video of me showing what you need to get a simple 1-4 s9's or equivalent antminers up and running. I chose to utilize an existing 30amp dryer reciprocal in my home.
[Watch how-to video below]
What you will need:
1. Leviton 2620 30 Amp Receptacle
2. Tripp Lite Basic PDU, 30A, 4 Outlets (C19)
3. Tripp Lite Heavy-Duty Power Cord for PDU 15A, (IEC-320- C13 to IEC-320-C20)
We will assume you have some technical skills required to properly operate and maintain a farm. Always remember to hire a certified electrician.
Although this setup support 1-4 Antminers, you can replicate this to scale up your farm in the home.
Once you have everything connected, plug in your miners to your Ethernet port and configure it to a mining pool of your choice.
Happy Mining.
