What is Coins.ph?

Coins.ph is a financial services platform founded in 2014 by Silicon Valley entrepreneurs Ron Hose and Runar Petursson in Metro Manila, Philippines.

As a service running on blockchain technology, Coins.ph uses digital currency as a low cost gateway to banking, extending the reach of financial institutions beyond their existing branch infrastructure to the 300+ million who are unbanked in the Philippines and the rest of Southeast Asia. In October 2016, Coins.ph secured a $5 mln dollar Series A investment from early-stage investors including Quona Capital, Kickstart Ventures, Ideaspace Foundation and Digital Currency Group. In May 2017, Coins.ph raised $5 million in series A extension led by Naspers Ventures.

Services

Coins.ph provides person-to-person wallet transfers, bill payments, mobile top-ups, online shopping, and remittance services. Its cash delivery network covers tens of thousands of banks, pawnshops, payment outlets, and door-to-door delivery across the region.

Step 1: Create an Account

and create an account

Enter your mobile number or email address and preferred password, then click Create Account

You'll see a verification screen. Check either your SMS or email messages (depending on whether you signed up with mobile or email). Copy-paste the verification code, then click the Verify button.

Now you're in. Congratulation.

Step 2: Verification (Increase Cash-in and Cash-out limits)

How to increase daily transaction limits?

Go to the Limits and Verifications page in the web browser, or if you’re using our apps, choose Limits and Verifications from the top left menu. From there, choose a verification step to complete.

LEVEL 1
Upon completion of Step 1 your account is already Level 1 (by default). Your limits are at 2,000 PHP per day for cash-ins, and you cannot create cash-out orders. You can also access some basic services such as buying load and paying bills.

LEVEL 2
To reach Level 2, you must complete ID and Selfie Verification. You will also need to verify either your mobile or email, whichever you did not use to initially sign up and submit a photo of your ID and take a selfie. On Level 2, your daily cash-in and cash-out limits is PHP 50,000.

LEVEL 3
If you need even higher limits, simply provide a proof of your address and we’ll help you increase your verification to Level 3. On Level 3, your daily cash-in and cash-out limits will increase to PHP 400,000.
