• Reserve Bank of India: Bars Banks from doing business with crypto firms

  • This is happening within 3 months according to the RBI
  • This has renewed fears in India over regulators imposing an outright ban on cryptocurrencies
  • Indian officials have already released several public statements saying that the government does not recognize bitcoin as a form of legal tender

• India's exchanges are challenging central bank's crypto crackdowns

  • PocketBits, a crypto exchange in India, has downplayed the statements made by regulators, assuring that there is no need to panic. There's NO ban on Bitcoin, just no official government stance on it. They argue that the central bank is just taking a stance against a technology that they're going to implement themselves. In the form of a digital Rupee
  • We're also seeing startups in the industry prepare a legal challenge to the bank of India. showing that these companies are not going down without a fight
  • People like the chief operating officer of coinsecure are saying that industry stakeholders are discussing this issue with groups like the blockchain and cryptocurrency committee of India and the internet and mobile association of India
  • We could even see this go to the supreme court so this is something that we have to watch
  • We're effectively seeing the RBI go to war with the crypto space. Look who's being hit, crypto exchanges, companies, and ultimately the end users
    -Coinbase is allowing people to withdraw Bitcoin Forks
  • There's no timeline yet for when this will happen, but customers will be able to withdraw forks from the Bitcoin network (Bitcoin Gold, Diamond Etc)
  • This doesn't mean you'll be trading with them on Coinbase, or GDAX, however.
  • Coinbase has stated that you may see more cryptoassets on GDAX than the coinbase app

• Vitalik Buterin is trolling tron over the whitepaper plagiarism

• Many accused the Whitepaper of plagiarism because a good portion of the WP is copied from Filecoin and IPFS AND other whitepapers
  -Justin Sun, the founder of tron didn't deny or claim that they plagiarized

• However, Vitalik and Sun have had several exchanges on twitter

ALTCOINS

Monero has hardforked, resulting in the creation of 4 cryptocurrencies in addition to Monero

• Monero Zero, Monero Original, Monero Classic, Monero-Classic

Monero has made a habit of Hardforking Every 6 Months

• This particular hard fork tweaked the cryptonight proof of work hashing algorithm that is ran when you are mining monero
• Also an increased ring-size which will allow bigger transactions, multi-signature transactions, and ledger hardware support
• However community disagreement leading up to the hard-fork resulted in the creation of these new cryptoassets
• Most notibaly the case of ASIC resistance and frequent hardforks with opponents saying that hardforking every 6 months is insane and that ASIC introduction into an ecosystem is part of the healthy progression of a cryptoasset
  Again, all of this comes down to "ideology"
