BTC is at crossroads, very bearish in the short term but still the most popular coin

Look, I know it's not looking that hot right now, but the number of people in the crypto market is higher than ever before, and BTC is still at the top of market capitalization and even with ETH in second place it's captured only half as much actual USD even though it is less expensive. The opportunity for growth in ETH, Ripple, and Bitcoin Cash is real, but truly if you want to see the crypto market as a whole survive, buy Bitcoin. It is like an index of the entire market and with its longer history comes the greater security and strength of much greater decentralization than the younger coins.

Don't invest what can't be planted and left for dead, but do realize that the falling price is largely due to the ability of new buyers to buy at high volume at low prices and that this lower price action is not yet a sign of an exodus, in my opinion it is the sign of massive interest and lowballing which will likely continue until the weak hands are willing to hold.

YTD we have grazed $6500 3 times, if BTC gains support here and now, it could recover 30-50%, but only time will tell. I could see it going to $5500 but likely still recovering to the $6000s and beyond, this is just a latecomers gymboree. There's hardly any reason to panic as the interest in BTC will prevent freefall, as long as it remains available it will be the most stable and other coins will follow in its success. I still think BCH offers the most bang for its buck in that it has a lot of versatility and range while ETH is very promising but not nearly as functional or fungible, so consider well, that if you came into the market after December, we may not see Bitcoin at these prices again, and if you want to exchange for something a little bit more early stage and leverage your investment in BCH which may have the most potential of grabbing market share and also as BTC remains the standard for most crypto transactions, it is bound to remain in circulation as long as cryptocurrency exchanges exist. I think good things will come to those who wait, as the difficulty increases there will be fewer miners and the value of existing coin will increase.

As always, use caution and happy crypto hunting! I for one think it's going to take patience and vigilance to gather what we can in the lows, because there may not be many more left!
