Less than 24 hours after the release of Facebook's cryptocurrency whitepaper, Facebook's Libra (LIBRA) is already causing the concerns Bitcoin (BTC) has yet to generate.
In the US, Congresswoman Maxine Waters asked Facebook to halt development of the Libra Network until hearings can be held.
The move follows a letter written to her by her Republican counterpart, Representative Patrick McHenry.
Whereas In Europe, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire declared “It can’t and it must not happen,”
A German EU parliament member expressed concern that Facebook will be at risk of becoming a "shadow bank".
