Repost PSA: Once again Transaction are were Rising.
Hey I made this post over on reddit a day ago when we had a transacion spike. I'm reposting it here to check out the steem platform and how it works:
Hey guys just a heads up transactions in the mempool are rising again. As of this writing there were 36,000+ transactions in the mempool and rising.
Given that this is the 3rd time in as many weeks that we've seen transactions rise like this it's doubtful that this is spam. Possible reasons for the increase:
- The US and Russia reached an alltime high
- Bitcoin was trading at $1280 USD in Nigeria last week. (Currently at $1267).
- India's Currency Crisis is causing a surge in usage.
- The period between Thanksgiving and Christmas is the United States's biggest transaction time for all types of consumer financial transactions as people are purchasing goods for Christmas.

- Estimated wait per btc/kb.
- Historical tx fee per kb.
- Paying ~100 tx per kb should get you in the next block.
- Costs per transactions in usd.
