As of this writing, BTC is HALF-MILLION in Philippine currency as reflected in coins.ph mobile app.
Rappler's article calls Bitcoin an Uber currency risky enough to be traded by individuals or organizations.
Whatever the case may be, Bitcoin has allowed Filipinos to play with financial market directed to digital currency which may not be possible for a normal employee. With Bitcoin, even for "the man on the street", it is now possible for him or her to be able to earn well enough, when done right, without having to go abroad to serve as domestic helpers or skilled workers.
OFWs or Overseas Filipino Worker leave their family behind to find a greener pasture in order to provide for their family while putting at risks relationships that bind a family together.
So many a family has been ruined by the environment created due to distant family member or members leaving their kids or spouse to earn more money to provide the needs and wants of every member.
This, of course, does not mean that Bitcoin is the answer to these issues but may as well be one iif leaving the family behind is not an option.
Somehow, a careful study must be made to make this work for Filipinos since the Philippines seems to embrace the idea of a cryptocurrency mixing in the Philippine economy.
