The true personality of Satoshi Nakamoto, the person who authored the bitcoin white paper, and created and deployed bitcoin's original reference implementation might be finally revealed soon!
Using Satoshi’s anonymity, many individuals have already stated that they are Satoshis, or they said that they could solve this greatest riddle in the world of cryptocurrencies. Now a new website has appeared on the Internet, which is also trying to contribute to the disclosure of the person’s identity. The site claims that Satoshi’s mystery will be revealed in less than seven days. You can check the countdown here - gotsatoshi.com
But don't rush to subscribe as it might be a simple e-mail collecting website, as always.
We have four candidates:
- Dorian Nakamoto - became "famous" after the article in the magazine Newsweek, journalist Leah McGrath Goodman identified Dorian Prentice Satoshi Nakamoto, a Japanese American man living in California, whose birth name is Satoshi Nakamoto.
- Craig Wright - the person that even sued people who denied he was the inventor of bitcoin recently. However, failed to provide some hard evidence of that.
- Hal Finney - a pre-bitcoin cryptographic pioneer and the second person (after Nakamoto himself) to use the software, file bug reports, and make improvements. It seems that he was the first person to receive the first bitcoin transaction.
- Nick Szabo - the web has extremely little information about Szabo, just two of his blogs, in which he touches on various issues in the field of history, law and economics. It looks strange today and the almost complete lack of information about his professional career as a professor of law and economics at the G. Washington University.
Why this time the stakes are high?
Well, first of all, the website, mentioned above. Second thing is, the United States District Court of the Southern District of Florida issued an order on May 3 requiring Craig Wright to produce a list of his public bitcoin (BTC) addresses. The court order states:
“On or before May 15, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time, Dr. Wright shall produce all transactional records of the blind trust, including but not limited to any records reflecting the transfer of bitcoin into the blind trust in or about 2011. The production shall be accompanied by a sworn declaration of authenticity.”
Third reason to expect the Satoshi Nakamoto identity to be revealed soon is John McAfee:
Does it even matter?
To be honest, it shouldn't matter, who Satoshi Nakamoto is. Is he (or she?) looks like a black latino or not, it doesn't even matter nowadays. We should respect the opportunity that bitcoin provided us - the chance for the financial freedom or even the new world order maybe? It it the key opportunity to get out of the chains of the debt-based economy. If you dig deeper and get this main idea of all cryptocurrencies, it turns our that we are all Satoshi here.
