Exodus Sent my ETH to an UNKNOWN Address. Awareness post!

in bitcoin •  7 years ago

This is a Heads up!

I was sending ETH ($85 worth) from my exodus wallet to my etherdelta wallet. I am glad it was a somehwat small amount and not $1000!

I copied and pasted my address on exodus but for some reason it would not let me enter the last digit which was 6. There were no spaces in between or anywhere and usually when the address is a digit/alphabet short, I am unable to proceed. In this case, I was able to proceed and not knowing any better, I sent my eth to the address with the missing last digit (exodus was not letting me put that in), and no point in saying, my eth is lost.

Just a heads up for all you guys that do use Exodus. It was a bad day...
