Cryptocurrency entered the mainstream in 2017, but that doesn't mean it's easy to get started. While it's common to hear the price of bitcoin discussed at your local coffee shop, how many people do you know who own any bitcoin, ether or cryptocurrency. Probably not many. As it turns out, it's still challenging to get started with crypto, and you might have questions you're embarrassed to ask out loud. Fear not!
YouTube is the world's second largest search engine (after Google), and a wonderful resource if you're just dipping your toe into cryptocurrency. There are thousands of hours of essential material to get you up to speed. And, just like anything, there's also a lot of noise. Crypto scammers, and people with nothing to say look just like the experts. So who can you trust?
Here are the best cryptocurrency experts to follow on YouTube
One of the biggest crypto mistakes I've made (so far) was tuning out amazing content creators because I didn't know who was legit, and who was blowing smoke. For the past few months I've been absorbing every bit of information I can, and watching videos day and night.
Far from an exhaustive list, here are the best crypto YouTubers I've found, and a bit about each.
Boxmining
Michael from Boxmining is a true cryptocurrency veteran. In his remarkably candid videos he shares priceless crypto wisdom, along with his personal history. Before he was YouTuber extraordinaire Boxmining, Michael got his start in crypto as a PC Gamer, mining for bitcoin on his gaming rigs, then selling all his Bitcoin when it reached $15. He walked away from crypto completely after the Mt. Gox hack. Thankfully we didn't lose Boxmining forever. With his extensive background and personal network i, Boxmining regularly features one-on-one interviews with the biggest names in blockchain,
such as Cardano creator Charles Hoskinson from, Da Hongfei of NEO, and Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ), as well as in-depth explainers of top blockchain projects.
Cedric Dahl
Cedric Dahl runs a cryptocurrency hedgefund called Mandelbrot and formerly founded Buttercoin, a Y-Combinator backed bitcoin exchange that raised $2.5M. Through his fund Dahl invested in the Ethereum ICO (back when ETH was $.03), and his firm looks for exciting opportunities to invest in blockchain protocols that solve what he calls, "hair on fire problems." Dahl's perspective on cryptocurrency investing is very unique, and very informed. I would be surprised if he's not a billionaire several times over, but what impresses me is his humility, positivity, and maturity. Cedric Dahl shares relatable investing advise, as well as common sense tactics for improving your life outlook.
The Traveling Crypto
Unlike most of the YouTubers I've mentioned, Z from the Traveling Crypto is a former Wall Street trader. His perspective is backed up with in-depth technical analysis of cryptocurrency price charts, as well as his experience trading alongside other professionals. He understands the mentality of trading, and can explain what's happening in simple, digestible nuggets. Traveling Crypto has a very active Discord server, where he participates regularly.
Ian Balina
Known as "The Golden Goose of ICO's," Ian Balina comes to the party equipped with his infamous ICO Ratings spreadsheet, and a 360-degree analysis of up and coming projects. Balina left his six-figure job at IBM for "crypto retirement," and the chances are that he's working harder than ever before, while traveling the world to meet with blockchain enthusiasts in Singapore, Thailand, Australia, and everywhere in between. Balina advises ICO's, and his online community is so active and engaged that projects he's involved with often have to close their ICO whitelist after he mentions their names.

Crypto Daily
There's something undeniable about British english, and Crypto Daily is no exception. Expect level-headed views of the crypto markets, dry humor (he's English after all) great graphics and fun, unpredictable interludes. Crypto Daily is great at explaining the news and events driving activity in the crypto markets, as well as quick takes of trending blockchain projects and protocols.

Crypto Tips
Crypto Tips is a digital nomad who shares her reviews on popular blockchain projects and cryptocurrencies, as well as common sense tactics for how to buy, sell and research cryptos for yourself. I first found out about her when I was trying to figure out how to trade using decentralize exchange EtherDelta. Her explanation was easy to follow, and got me over the hump.
Ivan on Tech
Think of Ivan on Tech as your daily crypto news magazine. His long-form analysis of blockchain projects, industry news, and major trends leaves no stone unturned.

Suppoman
It's hard to feel anything but extreme confidence when you listen to Suppoman He's another English YouTuber who dives into the tough problems blockchain startups are tackling, as well as explaining market fluctuations and the opportunities they create. Suppoman is high energy, charismatic and deeply knowledgeable. His videos are long, and sometimes it's hard to understand his accent, but his videos are definitely worth your time.

Crypto Gurus
Crytpo Gurus releases long-form videos on upcoming ICOs for the month ahead, and breaks down the team makeup, market opportunity and profit potential for new projects. The videos are pretty dry, but they're packed with info, and give you all the direction you need to do your own research.
They Call Me Dan
Dan is a seasoned poker player turned cryptocurrency trading guru. Crypto Daily credits Dan with making him a better trader Some people refer to him the "Tony Robbins of Crypto" for his inspirational wisdom--especially when the chips are down--as well as his far-reaching view of blockchain technology, and cryptocurrency market volatility. When I recommend taking a look at his video on how he got into crypto and why.
Crypto Beak
Cryptobeak keeps it very real. His foul mouth, and combative nature are definite selling points. Although he doesn't reveal his face, his grizzled cockney wouldn't be out of place on the set of a Guy Ritchie film, like 'Snatch' or 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.' If there's a tougher crypto YouTuber, I'd like to meet him.
Crypto Beak hosts weekly live video streams where he reads whitepapers and (often) savages the teams and ideas he doesn't like, as well as pointing his audience to real gems. In particular Crypto Beak likes exchange tokens, such as Binance Coin or KuCoin Shares, which reward holders for trading on exchanges. Crypto Beak also reviews ICOs, and has the clout and the capital to make major investments in pre-sales, such as Legolas Exchange and Coinmetro. While his style may ruffle your feathers, no one is going to give it to you straighter.
