Great news... I made my first lightning payment from South Africa to a company in USA using the lightning network 🤩 The payment cleared in about 15-20 seconds and from what I understand, was routed via coinbase... Whats even better is that I didn't have to use my out dated credit card and prove that I was the real owner 😔
Here's the full story if you have time... About 2-3 weeks back I created an account with this US company which provides marketing services. They required my credit card for payment which I uploaded. After selecting the service I wanted and making payment all looked good 🤨
A couple days later they contacted me and said that the credit card looked fraudulent and that I had to prove my identity. They required me to fill out a number of forms and send passport and ID docs. I did so but then they requested even more information. I refused... and so my account was closed and the payment I made was refunded. It was an incredibly annoying experience 😖
The support team though reached out and let me know that bitcoin payments would be enabled soon and that I should try again then. I did so today and everything worked wonderfully well. As above the bitcoin payment settled almost instantly... I'm still amazed that this crazy, magical money that we invented called bitcoin, actually works...
Super proud to be a bitcoin owner, user and supporter today 😇 ... "So you say you want a revolution..."
How did you use the lightning exactly? Which websites, apps etc did you use to send the lightning? Or which company did you purchase from and which company is involved because coinbase?

it a digital marketing company in the US.... made payment via the website.... i think they have an account this coinbase... cause the payment was made to coinbase
