January 3, 2019 is the 10th anniversary of the Genesis Block on the Bitcoin network. As Andreas Antonopoulos has cited, Not your keys; Not your Bitcoin. In recognition of this day, there has been an initiative to take control of your Bitcoin by holding it in a wallet where you hold your private key, preferably while contributing to network consensus.
For me, this was a reminder that we should be taking this time, while others have lost interest, and educating ourselves on crypto so that we can be better members of this space. The next time we see an influx of people in this space, we should be ready to help educate them by sharing what we have learned.
This can really be applied to anything, especially as we are entering this new year, it is a great time to remember to spend our time and efforts on what is important in life.
