#1.1 - The power of addiction...

in bitcoin •  7 years ago  (edited)

So now that you know a bit more about my past, you might also be able to imagine why this technology, in combination with the Deep Web eco-system, became extremely appealing to me as a - 'entrepeneur' in very traditional different fields, shall we say... ;D

I clearly remember my transition from seemingly neverending scepticism, to absolute addiction to the ideology behind this newly discovered, pseudo-anonymous currency, allowing me to trade with other people in a completely trustless, peer-reviewed, escrow ensured manner.

The best way I can describe it, is by comparing it to the feeling you get today - if you're old enough, that is - when trying to remember the times before cell-phones, and ask yourself - "how did people ever live without them!?" -
"how did people keep in touch!?" - "how did they keep track of each other!?"...

That was sort of the feeling using bitcoin gave me; "how did I ever live without this thing in the past!?"

Granted, I have a love/hate relationship to my phone - but I would never be so blatently stupid, as to negate the inherent potential, of capabilities aquired, by simply having an internet connected smartphone in your hand.

And in the same way, it was absolutely impossible for me, to ignore the inherent potential of what Bitcoin already was becoming - from both a liberal, ideological and economic perspective, at a time when we needed it more than ever before.

And even though I have always prided myself, of not having an addictive personality - despite having quite a few vices ;D - I have to admit, that from the first time I made my first bitcoin purchase - I was absolutely hooked..!

Brevity is the soul of wit - and longewity the soul of the contemplative!
