BitShares (BTS): Pattern and Elliott Wave Analysis & @haejin's Secret Sauce! Find out in this blog!

should we be alarmed that Poloniex MAY be doing what Bittrex did and just shut off withdrawls and trading on their site?
this notice has been here for a few days at least.
Maybe we should be buying only on the bitshares exchange?
Anyone have any clue??

My last poloniex BTS withdrawal was delayed over five weeks, with no response to support tickets.
Bitshares has BTS/openSBD pair, and many more.
Bitshares has USD/EUR/CNY fiat gateway through open ledger and CCEDK.

"Bitshares has USD/EUR/CNY fiat gateway through open ledger and CCEDK"......Its a game winner I reckon...

It took way longer in the summer. 50 days or more with BTS and 2 months or so with steem. It pushed me off Polo to Bittrex... then Bittrex closing BTS pushed me off Bittrex, so I'm now using Bitshares.org and its way better wondering why I hadn't used it in the first place....(oh... and cheaper!)

IMO, that makes Bitshares more valuable. I'm excited if they close their market there. It seems like that would be the world pushing Bitshares back to it's roots, and it's mission, and for all the wrong reasons, but it will end up back where it always belonged - Building a bridge to connect to people, not to servers, while still being able to access the same tools and experiences they can access. Forget CEX, just develop the DEX to be better and better, and have more and more pairs. Some people don't like it, I think it's a pretty decent trading platform after the recent updates, including a GUI update.

So true.. DEX is at the heart of Crypto.. it completes the De-Circle

how can I fund my Bitshares exchanges with BTC? whats the easiest way?

Get BTC deposit address from bitshares, and just send BTC. Open ledger will process everything and your bitshares account will be credited openBTC. Reverse is true with withdrawlas.

Thanks Bro you've been coming to the rescue for me A LOT lol

Lion in the Sun, Bro. I consider you my very first steemit friend, and I always will.

I am truly honored :) thank you for that.

it looks like BTS is a lot more expensive on Bitshares exchange? Am I seeing that right? it looks like 0.00001374 on polo and 0.00001889 on BTS?

Am I doing this right?

Hey guys Ive been using polo for over a year and this happens quite often. It happens to steem, sbd and many other coins all the time. I wouldn't be alarmed and this is actually a good buy opportunity there.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

thats great...me i dont like having my coins frozen and manipulated by the exchange...if i wanted that i would convert to cash and deposit at bank of america...polo is a joke...

I only use it with a small amount that I trade with. The rest goes in to either bitshares or private wallets. Traders need to trade somewhere liquid.

All my BTS was bought on Poloniex. I'm getting kinda nervous not being able to move it to safer place.

check what moves out of polo exchange for eth or dash...withdraw to DEX exchange back to BTS

I don't think that's a good move. At this point and for at least a month (I didn't observe it before) BTS is significantly cheaper on Polo. Doing what You recommend would leave me with more or less... 1/3 less BTS. Price on Polo right now is a little over 10 cents, while on DEX it's around 13 cents.

then wait for 5 weeks sir....im just trying to help you out....next time go DEX ...then you will never have this problem again...the only way sometimes to learn is when you have lost money

.

I heard the fees are high. Tho is that true. ?

Also guys what are you guys using for a mobile wallet for bts? I’m waiting for the carbon wallet.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Yes. I'm an idiot. Thank you.

dope thanks buddy...

I would use blocktrades in a situation like a major btc crash to get into fiat pegged currencies tho.

bloctrade is usually 10% premiume

I'm an idiot.

convert back to btc and send to bitshares and then buy bts again there

It has happened before, so it is a week or more to wait for them "fix" whatever is broken on Poloniex side.

it is an issue on Poloniex's end or BitShares? Have they removed wallets without warning in the past?

They started to have problems with BitShares already 8 days ago. I even made a post about it.

https://steemit.com/poloniex/@scorer/poloniex-problems-with-bitshares

Yes, they have disabled BitShares already in the past for many times. I counted at least 3 times and none of them was some kind of error that was discussed in github repository. Even once it was posted there but no info from Poloniex side.

wtf how did they get bought? im planning to buy BTS on poliniex

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

I sold my BTS yesterday on Poloniex without problems.
But you can buy them on bitshares.org.

why is it not on the dex?

we dont need poloniex anymore....thats why i stopped trading on centralized exchanges...DEX or nothing at all...

If you are using Bitshares and Openledger, do you keep the coins there in OPEN./BIT asset versions? I would rather hold the "real" coin, then these versions.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

it is just as real if not more real than any centralized exchange..poloniex is run out of a kitchen....if you use a centralized exchange they hold the keys like a bank...do you trust some women in bathrobes in kitchen with the keys to your coins? the dex does not hold your keys...never freeze your funds and cannot go bankrupt...lookup mtgox....alot of ppl lost all there savings....

I love you bro for this information. I almost wanted to put BTS in Poliniex but I'm going for Openledger DEX <3

love you back bro!!!!

i hope you make a ton of money bro

Yes dweller...when you hold coins on Bitshares it acts as a wallet and you have the protection of both 1.75-2.00 collateral backing and it being held on a decentralized exchange where you have control of your coins....when you sign up you can use the same credentials on openledger and bitshares..if you use the bitshares cloud or local client wallet click the BTS tab and you can buy bts or what ever coins they have on there..they don't offer as many coins as Bittrex but im sure they will add more in the future..if you buy open.BTC open is just what they call it but it's backed by actual BTC...when you have the BTC click on the open.BTC tab to transact with your open.BTC and buy whatever coins you want..hope this helps

I already bought some BTS on bitshares. I am not worried about "real" assets like BTS. But I have doubts about open.BTC and similar. Was there any audit that it is realy backed by BTC? How can I be sure it is really backed? This seems to me the same as any CEX, as you have to trust some entity. Seems to me it's better to hold in cold storage.

Another problem I see with DEX is that the frontends are centralized, so anyone who is in charge of the frontend can see your password/private key when you log in.

Don't take me wrong, I like the idea of DEX and already use Bitshares and EtherDelta, but it's still far from ideal.

Very valid questions..of course cold storage will be and has always been the best way to store your coins..as far as the other technical things, the team is pretty open about this...they have a telegram channel and the devs are on there all day so you could ask them about these concerns...ive got a lot of questions answered on there...Tony Peacock has a steemit page and he is a great supporter of Bitshares and is extremely knowledgeable...you should ask him these questions..let me know if i can help in any way friend

Do your research first before making assumptions. Did you not read shawnstwrs comment above sir? ?? Did you not read mine. Cex is a risk in an already risky crypto market. If you wanna risk losing everything then keep leaving your coins on a cex. Good luck with that

I read his answer obviously, as you can see I replied directly to it. I admit that I did not check much info about bitXXX assets before I posted my comment, but other points are still valid. Maybe you did not read my whole comment..
I briefly read about bitUSD and bitEUR assets a bit and it's pretty neat with the 2x collateral backing via the smart contract. But this is not valid for open. BTC, it's basically the same like on CEX (giving word that is backed by real BTC 1:1). But for sure, I would trust openLedger more than Bittrex.
I don't have a lot of money in crypto currently, so I am not so much concerned right now. I use multiple CEX and DEX and also cold storage to spread out risk. The main problem with DEX for me currently is a very limited number of coins, but this will improve in the future, I bet.

News or events shall arrive to justify the forecast.

I'm really beginning to believe you on this. Could the collapse of some centralized exchanges, as we are hearing rumours of, especially around Bitfinex, be the catalyst that sends Bitshares skyrocketing? Just a thought...

Hmm, imagine what BTS price would be if the SEC/IRS/Govs start regulating the Centralized exchanges? There would be a mad dash for the DEX!

That's another great point that I didn't think of. I've been watching many of your chart predictions come true recently and news coming out of nowhere to support them, so it honestly wouldn't surprise me if it played out like that.

So should we buy bitshares through openLedger DEX?

I reckon thats the best...

Yes I do, it feels good not to pay fees like any other exchange

The bts dex fees are almost nothing if you get a lifetime membership. Also you can refer with a lifetime membership and you get a cut of all fees FYI. So I help a lot of ppl sign up. It’s litlle but with bts value going up it can be a lot later.

Ya imagine scalping with no dex fees, once it gets more liquid. It would be so much easier to scalp

Just pay attention to the bittrex wallet. They ate still accumulating piles of BTS. They are hoarding the Bitshares!
