For those of you who don't know, BCC (Bitcoin Cash) is forking on August 1st. Generally speaking, it is a good idea to hold your private keys as during that time, if you hold any BTC, I believe you get the same amount of BCC.
I'm wondering, does anyone know of any wallets that will be compatible for the split, ie multibit.org, armory, exodus, .... (not hardware wallets as I don't use them)
Let me know below
Yes. If you retain access to the actual private key (or the seed used to generate it), you will always be able to access your coins through any service that supports it.
The main thing is to have access to the private key. A hardware wallet stores the keys on the wallet whereas a paper wallet or something is just the seed written down or the private key in QR form.
A bitcoin seed usually consists of 12-24 words from a list.
Only time will reveal the players that handle the split properly. (assuming one even happens)

wallets will tell you now if they are....The best advice I can give is just leave them on a paper wallet till all this is safe again and you know what you're doing

There is of course the growing possibility that a split won't happen.

Not from the rhetoric coming from Roger Ver. Looking likely. I think of it more like an airdrop for Roger Ver's new altcoin...

right, why would it be needed to create BCC when you get the same thing, and while the developers are fightover the BIPS and WITS? Bitcoin is getting too old..there are younger more versatile CCs to take over already

Everything I'm reading seems to be pointing towards a soft fork and not a big deal at this point. This may initially drive the price up.

We all know what people value most and worship- BTC. BCC is free money but in fact it is a child of greed and control. Dissapointing it comes from some key figures in cryptocurrency tech
