Bitcoin accepted here: Pay for your Thali or Vadapao at this family restaurant in India

in bitcoin •  8 years ago  (edited)

In the past year or two India has shown a tremendous increase in the cryptocurrency especially bitcoin. Recently according to a bitcoin analyst, India ranked 10th in the overall bitcoin market. As the demonitisation gave virtual payment solutions like Paytm a boom, bitcoin also saw a surge during the period.

Today many of us will be able to do payments online in bitcoin and pay for recharges, movies, etc. at certian exchanges like Zebpay, Unocoin, etc. But bitcoin as a method of payment in offline mode is something new in India and is catching the eye. However this may not be as popular as the gaint Paytm but it is starting to deepen its roots and grow its shoots.

Now, How about you pay for your lunch or dinner, or a simple snack in bitcoin. This is the feat that has been achieved by two Indian restaurants, Suryawanshi restaurants in Bengaluru’s Indiranagar and Whitefield neighbourhoods, that serve mostly typical Indian food. Now you can have a vadapav for your bitcoin. You can have a lunch for the earnings from a post here (converted to bitcoin). Now that is what i call "The new cool". They do accept the traditional payment methods alongside like the usual cash, cards, and Paytm.

INFO:

Pizzeria was the first offline establishment to transact in bitcoin in Mumbai. They started accepting bitcoin in 2013.

With the bitcoin getting a legal status in India, this trend is only going to rise.

Welcome .... A resteem would be much apperciated

Done ;)

Thanks mate...

Very useful info, thanks!

Thank u

Great to see it starting to be accepted in India. From next month JULY, our travel company www.amsterdamescape.com will be accepting DASH and BITCOIN as payment options when bookings vacation accommodation.

That is a nice start....good luck...The community will always be ready to help..

A resteem would be appreciated

That is very encouraging. I just got my first Bitcoin Debit Card called Cryptopay unless the store does not accept Bitcoin

http://www.bestbitcoincard.com/en/cryptopay-me/

Card services have extra fees tied to them and you should have your coins in an online wallet, which is always insecure. A good quote in crypto world is "keep only that amount online that you are ready to lose."

The rest on cold storage or make paper wallets.
http://www.coindesk.com/information/paper-wallet-tutorial/

As the name suggests they are both the same with a slight.. I can say say that paper wallet is a type of cold storage. But they are are only savings type, i,e you can add funds as many times as you want... But when it comes to use those funds.. you need to use them all at once...not partially ...

Yeah . the main thing is being able to control your private keys if you dont then technically you dont own your btc.

Absolutely correct... And by control i mean, u and only u know your private key, not even your local computer, your exchange, your wallet.. no one...

Thats amazing I want to eat there now. Any place that accepts btc is a start of something great.

These kind of things are itself very rare in India and thus this are a treat to the eyes.

This is Freaking awesome. At least I can eat up my steemit earnings now.Brilliant!!!!!

Now that is a nice angle... However you still need to do the conversion.... A resteem would be much appereciated

@nicnas, @fortified, @hermez428, and all others , first of all sorry if you feel plagiarized. I accept that this post does contain a certain amount of copy paste, but that was not intentional. As you can see I also have not included my footers in the post, because I was on mobile and in my bed. The news was time sensitive so I took it and modified a little bit, as I did not have the resource and time, and was going to edit the post in the morning and add my footers etc to it as well. sorry if you feel offended... I am going to rewrite the post after an hour or so from now..... Sorry again.

I was not offended. I like to upvote quality original content. I hate people trying to make money off other peoples hard work. I always take consideration of someones intent. You got lucky to get some whale votes but that doesn't mean that they read your post. I rarely downvote and am sorry that it is a negative. It was very much so plagiarism but I think you can do very well writing your own stuff. :)

Not impressed by you or you attitude. So you thought it would be ok to cut and paste word for word the article because you were to lazy to get out of bed. You're a joke and your excuses are lame. No more stealing content OK?

It is nice to see Bangalore accepting Bitcoin. Will surely visit these restraunts next time I am in Bangalore.
