Choosing to remain anonymous under the false identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, a supposed 42 year old Japanese cryptographer, makes Bitcoin that little bit extra special.
Whoever Nakamoto really is (whether one person or a team of cryptographers), they are believed to own up to approximately one million bitcoins, with a value estimated at approximately $6 billion USD as of October 2017. There have been several claims made in recent times as to the possible true identity of the man who unlocked the Bitcoin phenomenon. Possible identities include Nick Szabo, Dorian Nakamoto, Hal Finney, and Craig Steven Wright.
