Long-term value of this attack is dubious. Announced with enough forewarning that Russians and Syrians moved all military assets before the strike.

You could be spot on and/or there was much more going on then we know. Trump is in a war with the deep state. There are definitely bad actors in Syria beholden to the deep state. Were they targeted and exposed?

I hope you are right. An overwhelming show of force which flattens Syria (trying to avoid civilians as possible) would be a great sign to the rogue regimes in North Korea and Iran.
Send them back to the 7th century, show the UN that the Geneva convention has some teeth.
Else we might as well all go back to caves if we think gassing civilians is acceptable practice.

So far I do not know what new news there is about it, but the truth should not be an easy decision for a president: some in favor and others, probably, against. Of course if the decision of President Trump is to attack is because he must have clear evidence of the chemical attack and will have the support of allied countries.
