Cryptocurrencies Continue To Break All-Time Highs

in bitcoin •  7 years ago  (edited)

In the last 24 hours, cryptocurrencies have risen $12 billion in value to $264 billion.

One year ago today, the total value of all cryptocurrencies including bitcoin was less than $14 billion.

In other words, cryptocurrencies rose more today than almost the entire value they had a year ago… and it wasn’t even a big deal.

One of the biggest gainers has been Ethereum which has risen nearly 50% in the last ten days and now sits at an all-time high of $470.

And Bitcoin Cash which has risen 35% in the last three days to $1,600.

I had an opportunity this week to talk with Jacqueline Alvidrez of the Crypto vs Metals show where we discussed a number of things including the debate going on between the Bitcoin Core community and proponents of Bitcoin Cash.

We also touched upon some more spiritual things including the power of positive thinking and the law of attraction, plus other things that can help you to find happiness in the crazy world we live in including; what helped me to beat my depression.

The funny thing is you can't even count half of the year lol the bull trend started about July and just continues to go that's only 5 months where we went from $800 up to $8,000!

250 billion market cap now easy im waiting for that first 1 trillion asap!

So, it's goin' parabolic. Back to killin' snakes

I personally think that Monero, Dash, BCH, Bitcoin and Eth are in overbought territory. Maybe we see a pullback over the weekend in the major alts.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are overbought due to lack of better alternatives. Monero has its own value that cannot be offered by the rest--namely total privacy. Dash and Bitcoin Cash are nothing but a second-rate, trying hard copycats. #makesteemitgreatagain

Doesn't DASH have the privacy features as well? I thought that was the whole point of DASH.

It could be. But nothing beats Monero in this domain. I am not impressed with the speed by which DASH processes TX. PayPal is miles faster ahead of DASH. Plus, aside from being just a crypto currency what else DASH has to offer to the world? Nothing!

Bitcoin? lmao

Bitshares is the only legitimate candidate to become a stable currency with real purpose only if it gets the attention it deserves.

I like to think that this sudden rise in crypto is mainly due to realization of hyperinflation!

And yes I still kick myself in the ads for not buying at 20 bucks a coin.not so very long ago........I am one of those guys.....lol

I can not wait for the next up coming alt coin bubble, gonna ride me some waves baby!

Well, the Blockchain gotta get some appreciation sooner or later. All the applications it has vs. the knowledge people have towards this whole new technology, is still on a very low scale.

We are on our way to different solutions in the world...
Cryptocurrencies are one way to give freedom back to the people!

Long may it continue, cheers

Bitcoin to the moon!

Himmelhochjauchzend und zu Tode betrübt!

Generic!

It's a beautiful time in crypto land, be thankful that we got in ealry. Don't be surrised if there is a bit of a correction in the market in the upcoming weeks. Just keep your head down keep HODLing and start picking out which yacht you want to buy

When the bull run ends on "basic" cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum, I think specialized cryptos will then pick up the pace, @dollarvigilante. Check out this news from Russia: The big news for Musicoin is that Russia's IPChain announced their intention to work with them. Check out Musicoin's address to the forum here:

more people invest and more it going high... nice to hear..

Been reading the EOS white paper. Looks very promising. I've been imagining how I would write some of the classes to make smart contracts more generic. I really would like to start writing code once I fully understand the concepts. I've only been involved studying crypto since spring and started investing shortly before that. I've seen almost 10x gains so far this year. Astonishing.

I've been a software dev for well over 20 years. Wish I took some time back in 2009 to see what was going on. I was so involved with my own projects that I missed the technical disintermediation code that potentially gives pink slips to authority.

EOS. I’m sure the rest of you caught the interview Berwick did with Dan Larimer about 5-6 months ago. I happened to catch it and took off to Kraken right after. That interview I happened to catch has me up between 97 and 125% right now. Good call, again, @jeffberwick

You think EOS will bring enormous gains given the projected 1 billion total coin supply? I would like to hear your thoughts on this @dandays.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

I know numerically (and I like numbers), considering the supply, enormous gains don’t seem likely, I get it. Usually I stay light on the technologies with a massive total supply. They seem to be steady pump n dumps and that’s about it, in my opinion. It’s when the EOS team detailed their goals, that’s when they got my attention. Unlike most every other developer out there who is looking to take over Bitcoin or take over Ethereum or take over whoever, these guys are different. They didn’t mention anything about the #1 or even the #2 spot, rather they mentioned PayPal. Spoke directly about transactions and transaction time PayPal currently has. That’s a pretty awesome sized challenge. If competing with someone as large as PayPal requires a supply of a Billion then so be it, I can’t predict the outcome but I liked their enthusiasm enough to get in on it fairly early. EOS is also the farthest back there in my rear view mirror.. say it does do something spectacular, I don’t anticipate seeing that for a good 16-20’ish months.

I am relatively new to the granular concepts underlying cryptocurrency, please be aware of that. As far as I understand EOS main objective is to serve as a foundation for decentralize applications looking to have their platforms run on the fastest blockchain on earth.

I don't see the correlation with PayPal there. Am I missing something?

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Nah, don’t let me confuse you. During that Interview, Larimer was comparing transaction times and fees of high ranked cryptos to time and speed of PayPal. He was pointing out how quickly PayPal can do transactions and how many thousands per second they can do which gave me numbers I could relate to as he elaborated on the objective of EOS. Don’t worry, I’m still pretty new to this stuff too. @jeffberwick has been real helpful as I’m sure you’re aware.

Yea, I have been using PayPal service for almost a year now to receive payment from my client and it's lightning fast. Nothing comes close in my opinion.

The only problem is during the verification process when you transfer your funds to your bank account which can take almost a week. What a shame!

Hopefully someone will build a cryptocurrency platform on top of the EOS block chain which acts as a gateway directly to your bank and doesn't need Bitcoin as a broker. Bitcoin is a piece of shit right now!

But I think it is very unlikely ATM. #makesteemitgreatagain

#crypto luv

It's a stunning time in crypto land, be glad that we have a tendency to arrived ealry. do not be surrised if there's a trifle of a correction within the market within the approaching weeks. simply keep your head down keep HODLing and begin selecting out that yacht you would like to shop for

How can I get those fat up-votes as well?

Each day just gets better and better. I wonder where we will be in 10 years?! Definitely over $1 Trillion, maybe 5?

They will vanish one day and will be remembered as epic failed.

ha! and replaced by what?

but STEEM is a cryptocurrency ... and it’s part of those marketcap statistics too!

I think you misread me. I was referring to Bitcoin and Ethereum coins.

It's a great time to be alive, cryptocurrencies are freeing humanity from corporate slavery and other types of oppression around the world. @dollarvigilante

cool

Great clip "journey to happiness", not many people are this open about their successes and failures, in the PR obsessed 'real' world. Positive Mental Attitude is so important.

Jeff a thought dawned on me this week that central banks might cancel all debt in a co-ordinated manner to reset and try and maintain centralized control in a post non gold backed FIAT era.

Bitcoin is lame overrated. I like to think of it as the Myspace equivalent in crypto currency. #makesteemitgreatagain

Hay its really great to see your post everytime , you had shown all data of bitcon cash and it's treading

Nice Topic. What about "Steem Dollars" ?

Good Blog!!!

Freedom come with hardwork first.

Exciting time to be in cryptocurrency now :)

Wow, that’s more than exponential growth!

What do you guys think the best altcoin to invest with which is less than $1 usd in price now as of the writing. Thank you in advance.

IOTA if you can wait 10 years and Ripple if you can wait 5 years.

Sup minded

The banksters are going ape shit.

Do not put all your crypto coins in the Bitcoin. When I calculate the future price of bitcoin, I add Bitcoin Gold and Bitcoin Cash at the price. In other words, if the capitalization of Bitcoin falls by 50 billion tomorrow, I will not care if Bitcoin Cash climbed the same amount. This is a scenario that took place a few weeks ago, when Bitcoin dropped by 20%, and that decline was more than offset by a 100% increase in the price of Bitcoin Cash.

I predicted all this a few days back , so yea , I also think that bitcoins dominance is a problem (although it got the ball rolling ) lets face it vrypto was a mechanism whose time had come LONG BEFORE bitcoin was launched (god these humanimals are retarded) see this bitcoin is a trojan from the future :https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@vaerospace/it-s-official-bitcoin-is-a-trojan-horse-from-the-future

Really? Nice post. I just upvoted, comments hope you do the same on my post.

The crypto movement is bring so much wealth to so many people. It really is changing the world. Though, we must be ready to adapt, as many big institutions are creating etfs so that you can buy exposure to bitcoin on the mainstream stock exchanges. This might be just so the big bankers can short the thing and bring it down. Be ready to get out at a moments notice! Set stop losses!

This game sucks. So I'm stacking gold and buying a mule. OK, who's with me? Going long mule shoes...
