How To Put Bitcoin & Other Cryptocurrencies Into An IRA

in bitcoin •  7 years ago  (edited)

When it comes to government, The Dollar Vigilante has been quite clear that our view is that government is an illegitimate and unnecessary evil.

And, we’ve been even more clear on our view of extortion or as the illegitimate government calls it, “taxation”, with our article, “A Letter To The IRS: Go Fuck Yourselves You Bunch Of Criminals.”

However, we are aware that the great majority of people today find themselves being enslaved and extorted and try to find as many ways around it as possible. And, we applaud any attempt to avoid being extorted in whatever way you deem necessary.

One way to at least defer this theft is via an Individual Retirement Account (IRA).

In this interview I spoke with Gus Demos of Perpetual Assets where we discussed how you can put cryptocurrencies into your IRA and why it is an excellent way to protect your retirement funds from hyperinflation and collapse.

We talked a lot about how important it is to your future to move funds from a standard IRA to a self-directed IRA and how you can hold many assets in the self-directed IRA including gold, silver, real estate and cryptocurrencies.

Gus Demos will be presenting at the upcoming TDV Internationalization & Investment Summit on February 19th in Acapulco, Mexico. And, he’ll be there for the entire week at Anarchapulco so you could even find time to sit down with him and plan out your financial future.

With so many of our subscribers having massive gains this year in cryptocurrencies we will also have two other speakers at the TDV Summit focused on helping them to avoid extortion as much as possible.

One of the speakers will talk about putting cryptocurrencies into a trust and the other will talk about how Americans can move their residency to Puerto Rico to avoid extortion.

The Summit is filling up fast so if you’d like to attend make sure to register soon HERE.

And, if you haven’t participated yet in the cryptocurrency boom, make sure to subscribe to the TDV Premium newsletter HERE before 12pm Eastern on December 24th when I’ll be recommending my next cryptocurrency pick.

An IRA seems like the most logical response possible to money. It is rational and unwise to just let them remain as bitcoin. No?

Hmm sounds interesting, IRS might be a very wise decision. I'm going to have to look in to that.

I'm not entirely sure I like you advertising yourself here. I see this same post here down below. you may actually risk lowering your reputation if you keep this up. Not trying to put you down, but I came on to Steemit to try to move away from this kind of behavior.

I might be of the subject. I think some might have to know this before the end of the year. Please help to spread awareness. Starting 2018 all crypto transactions are taxable events

I've been reading up on declaration of steemit earnings and gains from crypto trading as taxable income / transactions a lot today and I've read many state the opinion that even for tax year 2017 coin for coin transactions are taxable events, because you're settling a position in the currency you're trading for another coin and the government wants its cut of that. However, they haven't made clear law yet but could retroactively enact this rule. I think the govt would go after the new millionaires first but it does make me nervous because I've made over 100 trades this year. What a headache if I have to file that sh**

But does anyone else know you made those trades? This could get ridiculous for day traders, or stop swing trading at all... Decentralized exchanges better get their shit together, openLedger.io is the one I have been trying...
One day they will force us to pay taxes on our taxes...
https://steemit.com/life/@ragetester/you-know-the-system-is-broken-when-you-are-taxed-2x-from-your-pension

Exactly. I have written about this extensively, The IRS/courts didn't consider gold and silver to be like kind property and also doesn't even consider certain types of gold to be like kind in certain situations; therefore long before the tax reform change to limit the scope of what can be "like kind," most crypto trades were probably not like kind. This is not personal tax advice of course!

does that mean that excludes 2017 for everything?

I am worried about quantum computers breaking the encryption that blockchains have.

if you're worried about quantum computers, blockchains being hacked should be the least of your worries.

haha, you are right:)

good post safety is very important

BTC ia a store of value already,, and with lots of people holding BTC and newbies joining the truck, there will be only few BTC to trade so the price will go more than anyone expected just like what happened in this Cold December

@dollarvigilante Thank you so much man! I do agree! The government is the only legal gang in society. Lol. My income is already taxed so I don't get why I have to pay taxes on anything else. They're taxing my already taxed money lol. I'm literally borrowing my own money. Like atm fees make me buy my own money. Hilarious.

Thank you once again for this information, truly helpful and essential in order to avoid theft they call taxation.

Needless to say I resteemed this so I can watch it again and again in the future.

Highest Regards

What people really need to know about cryptocurrency investing is it’s not just high risk in terms of volatility  It’s high risk in the sense you’re dealing with a bunch of really weird nerds

such an awesome analysis done by you. Thanks for sharing with us dear

Do Ira really get into this i guess they really need more cpntrol over citizen wealth now then before.

The govts and banks would fail as they try stopping the block chain revolution. Fortunately there are govts like Dubai, whom are adopting blockchain technology by 2020 to become worlds first blockchain powered govt <3. Many thanks to you @dollarvigilante for the Crypto based information you share with us.

cryptocurrencies are the investments of the future, is the currency that will dominate the world soon.

its also good to watch video on it and i will try it to regiter here now jeff berwick

IRA oh this is amazing

Perfect timing. I was just considering IRA's. I am new to cryptocurrency, but when you mention IRA and Puerto Rico in the same post, my interest is peaked. Thanks. I look forward to future posts. Following. Blessings.

good topic and good writing @dollarvigilante. Thanks for sharing.

If a 10-year old don't understand what it is, don't put your money especially retirement money on it. Sounds too complicated to me!

Even though this situation has caused the problem of trust to people, our money in our bank is in our virtual environment. Our cryptopara is inevitably the last to be used because of the fact that the virtual world is being managed rapidly. I could not watch all of your videos because I do not have the money to invest. :) But now I will make a resteem. And I will definitely watch when I need it.

Nice article to get the mind wondering about this. Although I'm not a US citizen nor do I live in the Americas, I do follow these events closely, as they percipitate to other regions. I feel for former US citizens also as the IRS still has the opportunity to slug them for earnings outside of the US wuth the ex-patriot act.

Seems like this could be a good idea and very common thing in the near future

greetings know,your writing is great
