If You Listen to Youtube Commenters Gold Is Dead And Crypto Will Never, Ever Go Down In Price

in bitcoin •  7 years ago

If you read the Youtube comments, many people think I am crazy for suggesting that those who have held crypto for the last year, or longer, and who have gains of 2,000-600,000% might want to take some profits and invest in an unloved sector like precious metals and gold stocks.

This is very interesting, because for the last six years, whenever I would mention that people should invest in cryptocurrencies as well as precious metals, many Youtube commenters would jeer me as being crazy for investing in a Ponzi scheme or scam such as bitcoin.

In other words, we’ve seen a complete 180-degree turn in public sentiment.

Cryptocurrencies were hated until this year… and now they are deemed to be impervious to any sort of correction or crash.

And precious metals were loved until this year… and now are deemed to be dead assets that will never rise again.

You can understand how crazy group psychology is by reading the Youtube comments!

Just read the comments in my recent video with Collin Kettell of Palisade Global where I suggested taking a small amount of crypto profits and putting them into precious metals.

In our talk, Collin mentioned there was an initial air of bitterness that existed between commodity and crypto investors early on, especially because many hard asset investors missed out on some of the early gains in the cryptocurrency space.

And we touched upon the fact that because mining stocks and hard assets have been relatively flat or languishing to some degree since crypto has risen in popularity over the last year or so meaning that this could be a great buying opportunity to add to your positions or establish new ones.

Collin believes that for the next year or so it’s likely that cryptocurrencies will continue to take the limelight, but as the hype subsides, it’s quite likely that people will begin moving a lot of their earnings back into the most well-known safe havens; gold.

We also had a chance to cover Mexican Gold Corp's new gold strike and the big gains that are possible, the uranium sector, as well as how the world's biggest producers including Cameco are doing after Kazakhstan cut uranium production. And stocks which are likely to rise.

Yes, there are other things going on in the world besides cryptocurrencies! And you can hear about it all in our interview:

Or, just go and read the Youtube comments on the video to see how dramatically public perception of cryptos and precious metals have changed in the last year.

Collin Kettell will be a returning speaker to the TDV Internationalization & Investment Summit, held on February 19th in Acapulco, Mexico along with Ed Bugos, G. Edward Griffin, Roger Ver, Trace Mayer, David Morgan, Bix Weir and many more. For more on that, and to register before it is sold out, click here.

It's scary seeing the amount of people saying it's inevitable that Bitcoin will rise. Whatever happened to "this is experimental, don't put in more than you can afford to lose". I suppose us advocates got what we wished for, but not the way we wanted it.

Maybe people should rather demand from their shops, governments to implement bitcoin payments?

They have been, but many vendors drop support because people just don't spend bitcoin there. Partly because people hodl, partly because it's not user friendly to spend.

I see, they must have thought: I'll sell it and spend dollars, fees would cost more.

Yes, brother, your answer is in its place, we are tired of waiting

Yes this is a good solution

Satoshi is God. You must have faith, then you will be saved.

Haha, yes that's how some people see it. It's interesting how bitcoin earns a kind of religious devotion among advocates. I'll discuss that in an article I'm writing. It should be up next week.

Well said!

Diversification is key.
BTC is at 51% the 49 are all altcoins.
Just stay busy and HODL

Well in a nutshell people buying bitcoin are financial terrorists because it's gonna terrorize the financial system .

I think a virtual crypto currency is a great idea. In the future, we will wear virtual reality goggles, watch VR porn, work in a virtual office and essentially live a virtual life from our cage-like windowless boxes. Freedom and privacy will be virtual. Any action we take will be virtual. Like "protesting" with a strongly worked status update on Faceberg or Twatting out a 140 character screed on why the NFL was better when someone didn't kneel during our national anathema.

Any day now GOLD will rocket up in price.........any second now.... so close..... I can feel it... 50+ years later getting closer... ever so close.....

According to me gold still have value specially as jewelry.

Jeff, thanks for your efforts as always. I am for a longer time in the crypto scene now and I hear your advice - and have actually taken action because of it again - and going with some of my crypto into metals.
I am not blindly following but I can see a lot of thoughts in your argumentation. I act on the advice where I can really understand your ways of thought. Now I am reading the creature from jekyll island, a book you recommended in one of your earlier videos and I am very much enjoying this one aswell!
Keep it on!

Gold and other PM's are more like insurance. You have it for when TSHTF whether it is just financial or more then that. 5-10% of your portfolio should be in PM's. Even if there is a giant CME you can give it to your grand kids. Not so much for crypto.

Yes cryptos have done great. Please take some $$ off the table if you have seen 1000%+ returns. I have no doubt that it will go much higher, but it never is a new paradigm, history does repeat itself. I have followed DollarVililante for 5 + years, my son even tried to get me into bitcoin in 2011 for what, $10 each? I instead bought physical, how I wished I had diversified!. You whom are believers, sell a little bit, 5%, 10%, 20% keep the rest, but put that 5% in physical. You will thank me in a few days months, or years! Good Luck!

It's going to be very interesting seeing what they do with gold. Rappers are going to start having to wear bitcoin chains...I'm kidding I swear

hmmm...and instead of throwing bills around, they'll be tossing out QR codes w/ a key to free crypto?

I dunno... just doesn't have the same cool factor.... ah, but what do I know? I'm just a middle-aged white dad livin' in the 'burbs.

That's the only sane thing one can do. Divert, hedge, put some big profits into tangible assets. Anything else is just reckless gambling. It may work out, but it is not the best thing to do.

Wise words from dollarvigilante. I am a big believer in cryptocurrency and will remain, but will start taking profits to put more in gold, silver and uranium. Have waited a long time for this. When the yellow metals are hated and misunderstood as much as bitcoin has been then it's time to invest. The majority of people must be wrong .....

Gold will shine the day when 60% of the mobile wallets get hacked by a popular keylogger

Exactly. I used to walk around with a lot of cash and people would say I was crazy. I'd tell them that one, random people don't know how much I have and two they have to have the balls to physically rob me.

These chicken necked cyber criminals can rob you from their moms basement and you won't even know it happened till you go to check your balance.

I will buy PMs. I will buy Cryptos. I will not buy equities or the hell frozen over fiat. PEACE Y'ALL !!

This is really good content. If you allow me i will resteem .thanks

I'm very interested in cryptocurrency right now. I have 3 children and we are always struggling. It would be nice to invest somewhere and really help us pay off some debts and get ahead! Any recommendations? @dollarvigilante

Was thinking litecoin because it is still at a reasonable price and on the rise like the rest of them... the currency rebellion is at hand!

wow...your necklace is nice :)

Thank you, I wonder is posting jewelry something people would look at? Hmm, my impression was more men use Steemit. Would be interesting to know the % though. Im following you now 😁

Look into EOS as well. Not investment advice btw. But definitely something to check out and pick up a bit of if your starting out with crypto. It's an exciting token, operating system, and developer tool.We are in exciting times.

Agree with @mudcat36 buy some EOS and hold it.

Thanks, I appreciate that ☺

I don't think there is no such thing as "reasonably priced". For all I know Bitcoin could currently be at 10% of its sustainable value, while litecoin could be at 90% of its sustainable value. Also, remember that there are 4 times as many Litecoins as Bitcoins, so with Bitcoin supply of Litecoin, the price of Litecoin would be something like $1400. But yes, I agree. Litecoin is a great choice. I would diversify though.

Thank you for this! I saw a post that said litecoin has gone up 8000% this year and I thought man, have I missed out! The common advice is diversify. And i found a great cryptobroker that will give you a bonus of 20% to start out if you open an account of $250 or more. I definitely want to jump on that! 😁

Buy Bitcoin, buy Pivx, buy Maidsafe, buy Monero, etc. 100% Accuracy. And recently in a similar style buy EOS when it was at .50 cents. It was the DV that lead me picking up a precious metals debit card as well. The morons can say what they like, but people and their advice is measured on two things:
Intent and effect. Fuck government is the intent, effect is shocking accuracy on market predictions and normal day to day people like myself able to keep the wolf from the door and safely grow and guard what little wealth we have. Thanks for the post Mr. B. Steem on.

@mudcat36 definitely all about tell thr government fuck off, wondering though, have you cashed in any of your earnings? My husband's hesitation is with the taxes on the earnings. He seems to think it 45% because this guy named Joe Rogan said so... I feel like that is overestimated... If your not sure no worries just seemed like you knew a thing or two about cryptocurrencies 😉☺

I think the best way of hedging against unpredictable price movements is diversifying your "Crypto Portfolio".

Perhaps chucking some money into Iconomi (ICN) wouldn't be a bad idea either since it's designed to be a 'crypto index'. Happy trading / HODLING

you are saying really clever things, the crypto currency will grow further, but gold is an asset that will never sharply drop in value, it is less volatile. but the crypto currency can make you richer, and gold and precious metals can save your capital from inflation and slightly increase ...
Thank you for the video

There’s new technology coming out that will make block chain obsolete.

Interesting, I was thinking about buying gold with cryptocurrency to store value, so i can sell it whenever I want. Cryptocurrency has too much volatility right now, maybe in the future it will even out.

I remember selling lots of BTC for Silver during the first bubble at around $1,200 USD. Hindsight is 20/20 and we're at another bubble today. What will you do?

I love that Silver :)

Gold will not die... Both will be in the game

I just watched your video "As Bitcoin Breaks All-Time Highs Near $20,000 Its Future Has Never Been So Uncertain" on YouTube, scary stuff from 4:07 to 13:38.

I've always said Bitcoin was created after the 08 crash to protect against wall street and the big banks and now with CME futures and what was in your other video about the lightning network and banks it sees these very organizations are hijacking it.

Roger sure is paying Jeff to schill his project. Its pretty disgusting. Give 100% control of the network to a bunch of miners and make it so you have to have a $20k computer to run a node. Sounds more like the Federal Reserve to me where Roger, Jihan, Rick Falkvinge and their buddies are basically the board of governors.

greetings friends steemit

let's hope it activates some people who didn't have money to use it to course correct a bunch of other real-world situations. 2018 is a time to mobilize and activate a lot of those side projects and local activities of connecting and disrupting if you ask me ;)

This makes a lot of sense for people who have seen huge returns. I'm just getting into the game however. When I do sell some cryptocurrency it will be to build a mining rig.

From this post i have learnt a lot of things.thanks for the post @dollarvigilante

I just started this past June.....yes, a late starter but a believer. This is the beginning of a new world for me. I enjoy the information you offer. Thanks.

This post encourage me a lot.
I am just a new User.

Cryptocurrency is the future, the future is always big and bright... if you don't key in now, later might be too late . @dollarvigilante please follow back. thank you. #cryptoworld

Always good to diversify, been looking at the mining shares again recently, if the gold price holds they must have bottomed out this year?, time will tell I guess.

I try not to read the comment sections... unless it's Steemit!!

Mr.dollarvigilante thanks for your efforts as always :)

A smart decision, I agree with your decision @dollarvigilante, I am sure the opportunity to gain enormous profits in your decision making. I am still in the step of multiplying little by little hopefully I can follow your footsteps. thank you for sharing, best wishes @dollarvigilante

I believe we are experiencing the modern digital gold rush of our era in humankind. A very bold statement i know! ;)

coollll...... greetings friends steemit

Yes you are right..I appreciate to your content..Best of luck..Carry on my friend ..

this already all is huge , i wondering what will be next year ? :)

I do certainly agree with most of your ideas and points, and I am certaibly moving my assets slowly out of Bitcoin into other items like Steem :) The investment into Cryptocurrency is different than other bubbles because of its need for a little understanding before you buy them. But then again that may just fuel the huge spike then fall, I wonder if I can short Bitcoin?

The Bitcoin hype perfectly shows how the herd mentality works.

commodities are cheap and hated

BTC is really expensive to use! It's a shame that exchange markets are only really in BTC.
Grab some silver coins while they are on sale! JMB accepts BTC.

Thanks Jeff!

Bitcoin is the new digital gold, since it has a maximum amount to be produced, instead gold, we do not exactly know how much it exists within the depths of the oceans, maybe it is not as scarce as we think.

Can someone tell me where and how I can invest in Mexican Gold Corp's ?

Sweet, my seemingly uncommon sense was right! Thanks for the good info. Got turned on to you thanks to RT.

Wow... I have always seemed Jeff like a crypto zealot a pumper...
This video is amazing a pragmatic and balanced view from several angles giving credit where credit is due.

I have metal and crypto and feel both have their strengths, it would be nice if most people would soften their stands based on visceral reactions and attachments and become more pragmatic and practical.

Great video, good info... for the first time in my life will follow the vigilante.

Cheers from Costa Rica

I totally agree with you, when i first heard about cryptocurrency i thought it was scam because of my mentality and i didn't have enough knowledge about it.righg now i regret the fact i didn't do crypto long ago.well i'm still serving so i buy the little investment i can.i'm greatful that my eye has opened

Thanks for this important information @dollarvigilante. I watched your YouTube video today, that's how I got to know you for the first time.

I love learning something out of my comfort zone every day.
Amazing article. Congratulation :)

bitcoin is rising one main issue is that for buying any crypto like etherium, litecoin etc. you should buy them only through bitcoin not usd .Well I have bought btc at 15k but I am still holding it.Main reason is that stated above.

There is an old saying that goes like "to make money on the market you have to do the opposite of the majority os doing"
I dont know If It is now, but i think the time of retreating a bit from cryptos may be near...

The thing is that it has not even started yet. There is a whole lot more to come.

Yes there is. But all this may still fail before It suceeds.
Its all only promisses at the moment.

Lynn Zhang says "i'd rather be a month, a year early to the trade that a minute late"

Functionality of currency KEY. I don't wanna go broke selling my coffee waiting for my bit coin to come in. We are the pioneers. Have faith in crypto!

Idk. If tomorrow the US Dollar crashed. Price of Gold would skyrocket and be the thing people are wanting

I agree, I've been seeing the signs that precious metals can become a great investment with plenty of upside.

I believe in the blockchain as a technology but the vast majority of cryptocurrencies will go away and be replaced by superior tech in the coming years. To put money into bitcoin after the recent parabolic rise is sheer madness. Suggesting that it's going to $100K or even $1M is fantasy.

Honestly I am so surprised that Bitcoin is what it is now.I was talking to people about the price and I would have never thought that the price can be this high. Most of the YouTubers that I watch think that all cryptocurrencies gonna get doubled by the end of 2018 so I'm thinking whether I should start investing..

Hi there!
Theoretically, the price of gold and all digital currencies depends on the value of various national currencies. But in practice, the main basis for valuation is the US dollar. The price of gold and Crypto-currency, expressed in a certain paper currency, depends on the strength (value) of this currency. Therefore, many experts consider gold and crypto-currencies as two parallel instruments, into which one can either invest or trade them. What do you think about that? Btw I've found interesting project on investment in gold. I have already heard about it.
This is american project and it actively develops. Have you already faced similar projects? https://solomon.gold/news/income-creation-methods-by-solomon-mines
