The Steemit and Crypto Evolution: My Steemfest Speech

in bitcoin •  7 years ago

I have just returned to “my” side of the pond from Steemfest in Portugal and then a rather interesting side trip to Marrakech, Morocco.

I’m now in a bit of a third world country where the internet barely works, and street people and beggars are everywhere - New Jersey to be exact.

Look for me at the Edmonton Oilers versus New Jersey Devils hockey game tonight. I’ll be the one in the front row holding up the “Taxation Is Theft - Buy Bitcoin” sign. Not even kidding.

In the meantime, we’ve posted my speech from Steemfest to TDV’s Youtube channel and you can see it here:

If you missed Steemfest this year in Portugal, there will actually be a friendly fork of Steemfest held after Anarchapulco this year. You can read more about that here:

https://steemit.com/steemfest/@worldclassplayer/steemfest-fork-in-acapulco-february-2017-movement-of-jah-people

To say there is a lot going on in February in Acapulco this year is an understatement. Make sure to check it all out at Anarchapulco.com where new events are now being added daily.

Go Oilers! And, taxation is theft!

I'm watching the game right now I want to see that sign! Hold it up high so all can see lol

Taxation is theft. Incredulous that majority choose to be living in the matrix and indirectly funding wars, creation of superbugs and surrendering their most important assets - their time.

Aloha, Getting your message all the way in Hawaii. Spreading the word on the Daily! Hawaii is sadly blocked out of currency exchanges. Some thing should be done. There is a bill in the works to investigate crypto and blockchain technologies.

Met Mrs.Steemit yet? hehe

Jeff: "Is the creator of DTube here?"
*hand comes up*
Jeff: "I need to speak to you later...."

I simply love your articles, what great content and quality of posting you offer the community here on Steemit and abroad.

Thanks a lot :)

It was a good speech and straight to the point about a number of issues. It was you, Jeff, who first told me of Steemit through your YouTube channel, so I'm sure you've done your fair share of recruiting for this platform.

I watched this on Youtube last night - it was good!! :)

Thanks for your work:) tip!

I really wanted to go to this. What was your general impression of the event?

GAWD.. how awful.
I'd go a LONG way to avoid New Jersey.

What did you learn at Steemfest that most excited you about the future of the platform?

i am trying to space for you @dollarvigilante

I SO want to get to Anarchopulco, but have calves due this year... maybe next year! Thanks for posting your speeches so I can still get educated, even if I can't get tanned...

Mark my words, Steem and Steemit are going to be big!! These are the future of social media!

Hay my friend it's not possible for me to come there this year but me I will be joining to the next steam fest and great knowledge from you.

Great Post & Speech!
Thanks for sharing and contributing to the community in the ways you have.
Steem on :)

Nice

Is it all booked up at Anarchapulco or is there room for more speakers/presenters?

Jeff I never got to say hello at Steemfest but I did hear your speech. You made good points. I am curious as to what your overall impression was and in particular do you think tokenising the internet will be a powerful force for change?
