Nice post, fiat currencies and bitcoin are both, a consensus of value. The only difference is that one is a piece of paper and the other is a hardware wallet (if you want to think about it on a physical level.

Both are digits actually :) We give it value because we have trust in it. If we would stop trusting the Euro, US Dollar, or some other fiat currency, that currency would not have any value anymore. Look at the historical hyper inflations around the world.
