I was wondering about the state of fiat currencies too. With American military might, the federal government (or more accurately, the private Federal Reserve who control the government) could perpetuate their corrupt ponzi scheme indefinitely. But the organic grass roots nature of decentralized cryptocurrencies has thrown a monkey wrench into their ability to control us. The Roman Empire crumbled because of their monetary policy too. They were over extended and began diluting their gold and silver with worthless metals too. Paper money is only valuable because people believe it is. Not so much anymore, but what were the people supposed to do, throw rocks at the tanks and jet fighters? Good post. Thanks.

Anarcho-Capitalist Countries & Cryptocurrencies... A Whole New World!
America has been overstretched for decades, it's the powerful and innovative private sector that has saved it from decline, but those entities are spreading their work globally, and the need for America as a nation is in decline, though it will be some time before that becomes evident.
In many ways it comes down to whether protectionism is the new normal, in which case the US will be irrelevant in 50 years tops.
