At least they vote first before they make stealing our wealth much easier. Sen. Diane Feinstein [D-CA] and others put forth this bill in part of the war on cash, bitcoin, and individual freedom. It vastly expands the governments power of civil asset forfeiture, which is illegal in the first place. In addition to violating the Fourth Amendment, it is my opinion that this bill also violates the First Amendment. Not only do we have the freedom of speech, we have the freedom to Not speak. That means, not telling anyone, especially the government, our personal business.

The government should not have a monopoly on the creation of currency. See The Ethics of Money Production by Jörg Guido Hülsmann.

The only reason this bill exists is to exploit and destroy any wealth outside of the government's purview. It shows the audacity of our representatives and their sheer disrespect for our rights and their oath of office. The government will soon be bankrupt and they are looking for new ways to loot the populace.

This highlights the importance of private and decentralized cryptocurrencies. The tighter they make their grip, the more of us will slip through. They have learned nothing from their failings in the past 40 years of the war on drugs and poverty. Cheer up, they hate your freedom, because they fear it.

counterfeiting money is illegal. printing/trading your own private money is not. I'll bet if the government goes after it hard they will claim that with bitcoin, people are "bartering" which is something that can be taxed. perhaps we need to really get some lobbyist and reps for crypto in D.C.

Sadly, probably true. They will certainly want us to pay taxes on gains in its value. We might have a couple of good reps but its not enough. Best bet is to grow faster than regulations can keep up. Thanks for the comment!
