This is the official call to boycott XRP (Ripple). Stop feeding the bears!!! I don't quite think people understand what Ripple really is, including the fact that it should not even be considered a real cryptocurrency.
(In my opinion) Any coin that is FULLY premined (meaning the coins were just magically created and appeared out of thin air) has no respect from the true cryptonation. With no proof of work from any mining pool, individual, or company, how can they carry any value? Even fiat currencies have to be printed or minted and thus use some sort of energy and resource to create. I mean, I can just say, oh ya, let's do an ICO, I have a gazillion fecal coins for a penny each, and probably fool thousands of people into thinking it was a viable coin. My Fecal Coin (SHIT when it hits the exchanges) is backed by the amount of crap people feed you with. Anyway...
ONE HUNDRED BILLION COINS. Seriously? Premined? You think they'll ever have a chance of even reaching a dollar??? Bitcoin itself tops out at 21 million and a lot of energy goes into solving those equations. Throw in the fact that they are just as easily created and destroyed (burned on transactions and created through the Ripple effect), the number will never change, despite the claims of them reducing the number. Also, over half (I think it is around 63 Billion) of the coins are still in the hands of private investors (probably bankers...) and the creators. What happens to your precious coins once those are released and dumped? They turn to ash in a matter of seconds. There is a REASON the app failed on the iOS network...
My final argument for why XRP should be boycotted and delisted from every exchange is this: Ripple is a "basic infrastructure technology for interbank transactions – a neutral utility for financial institutions and systems." That throw any red flags up for anyone else? I mean, wasn't the purpose of Bitcoin to eliminate 3rd, 4th and so on fess from the get go? To create a peer to peer network and put our hard earned 'money' back in our own hands and control? What was the text Satoshi Nakamoto sent with the first mined block? 'The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks'. And did he mine a bunch of blocks for himself? NO. Open source program to ensure the entire world has a fighting chance.
Puts things in perspective doesn't it? I will never put a single satoshi into the XRP market and now you know why. It's a very well camouflaged ruse used by the banking societies to try and regain the control over the planet's economic system. A battle they are losing because of our beautiful Bitcoin, Ethereum, STEEM, Litecoin, and other such actual cryptocurrencies that have substantial value. So, if you want to give the power back to the people, and yourself, and really change the world, join me by boycotting and ignoring currencies such as XRP. It starts here.
I've been puting my dollars towards:
In that order. I really like Ethereum, as a developer I find the network being super interesting to work against.

Excellent choices @amirossanloo! Last I checked, the Ethereum blockchain tech was favored in 15 of the top 20 traded altcoins.

Nice! Do you know which ones that are the top 3? I assume Bitcoin is the 1st.

At this very moment on CoinMarketCap.com BTC is first, yes, then ETH and then 'he who shall not be named'.

At this very moment on CoinGecko.com, it's BTC, then ETH and then amazingly they have Litecoin listed 3rd! (total score anyway)

Awesome post Mate. I fully agree with your conclusions. When I first looked into Ripple I noticed that it would be utterly worthless.

Much appreciated @troyvandeventer! I didn't honestly pay it much mind until it hit the top ten, and then I had to dig and see what it was all about...my jaw almost dislocated lol

I'm still toe dipping in the cryptocurrency world. This is good information about Ripple and the reason to stay away from it, @enginewitty.

@jmcmeekin I have two thoughts on ANS...
I can see ANS as a bridge to much bigger things...almost expanding on what Bitcoin already is. Would be a smart hold.

Thats my current thinking also! I appreciate all your crypto opinions! Its a great starting point. What I've appreciated the most is that you provide qualitative reasoning i.e fundamental analysis rather than just shouting a random number. Too many people like to post silly numbers with absolutely no background information.

LMAO ya, I've run into that too bud. I try to do my homework and understand what is happening in the world around me. Many people are still just oblivious and missing some gigantic ships that are sailing through screaming "ALL ABOARD!" Anytime you want to swap ideas just tag me bro.

The way AntShares works is similar to Proof of Stake (pos) so by holding them you create AntCoins. So, there are actually two coins involved with them...read my post from today ;)

At the moment I have wallets in bitcoin, ethereum, steem and bts. I add small portions from time to time so it grows slowly but it grows. A few months back I took a look at ripple but decided not to go for this one.
