Another morning in which we wake up with news about hacks in the world of cryptocurrencies, in this opportunity the victim was EtherDelta, a house of change very popular among the buyers of cryptocurrencies. The exchange decided to suspend its services after they were allegedly victims of an attack.
EtherDelta is particularly recognized for its catalog of selection of altcoins, from ICO, which are usually offered on the platform before any other renowned exchange house even includes them in their lists. On the other hand, the exchange is very friendly at the time of use, since it does not require a user verification to perform trading. And, although it does not accept fiat money on its platform, it accepts cryptocurrency to cryptocurrency transactions.
The company alleged that they have reason to believe that a group of intruders accessed their servers compromising their services. This first call for attention was made through social networks, then a second tweet was issued where it was ensured that the hacker had cheated the EtherDelta domain, minus its twitter and chat interface.
EtherDelta has a trading volume of around 11 million dollars per day, these figures are courtesy of Coinmarketcap.com. This metric would put the exchange houses within the first 75 portals of change in the market.
This news follows the incident that caused the closure of the Korean exchange house Youbit, which signed an agreement to declare bankruptcy after having been hacked twice this year. The wrongdoers are suspected of being part of an intelligence group in North Korea. Last week, NiceHash admitted to having lost tens of millions of dollars for a hack, while Tether, an entrepreneur who works with exchanges, alleged that he lost $ 31 million last month.
