From maintaining oral hygiene, to knowing the turkey story of Thanksgiving dinner, DiarioBitcoin shows a selection of four uses of technology that you probably did not know.

Blockchain, or block chain technology, works like a digital accounting book, which, due to its high levels of security and inviolability, allows to register and store information easily, safely and transparently.

This is why technology has become popular among large companies and different initiatives around the world, and that its uses are not limited exclusively to that of cryptocurrencies. Big companies like Huawei, Mastercard, IBM, even NASA, are analyzing the technology and investing in it, for example, inventing smart ships to travel to space.

On this occasion, DiarioBitcoin prepared a selection of the rarest applications of Blockchain, which invite us to imagine the future of humanity based on the developments of this technology, whose benefits seem to be beyond imaginable.

Brushing teeth and mining cryptocurrencies

The Chinese company Shenzhen Ming Ming Technology Co. has invented a toothbrush based on Blockchain technology. The brush promises to take care of the oral health, to leave the really clean teeth and to mine cryptocurrencies at the same time. An instrument for oral cleansing obsessives, and technology enthusiasts.

The 32Teeth project, currently funded by Ming Ming Technology, not only uses Blockchain technology, but also face recognition and big data sensors. The toothbrush is used in conjunction with an application for the cell phone that offers an accurate identification of the levels of cleaning the surface of the teeth, analyzes the data of brushing activity of users and offers a powerful intelligent reminder.

The toothbrush app even has an AR function that gives the user an inside look at how to brush. The tool also tries to make the cleaning habit a cryptocurrency mine by rewarding regular users with AYA cards, which can later be exchanged for dental hygiene products and services.

Consensual relations

The LegalFling application is the first application for smartphones based on Blockchain, which requests and verifies explicit consent before having sexual relationships. The creators of the initiative were inspired by the #MeToo movement, which has brought to light numerous cases of sexual harassment abuse.

The project is based on intelligent contracts to create legally binding agreements, which means that any offense is a breach of contract. Applying the Live Contracts protocol, the private agreement is registered and verifiable through Blockchain, and executable in just one click.

The application, available for iOS and Android, allows generating agreements between the participants, which are registered in Blockchain, to ensure a consensual relationship. Users can specify their tastes, share photos and videos, decide on the use of condoms, admit sexually transmitted diseases, even determine the use of explicit language during the meeting.

Sustainable energy

The pioneering energy company LO3 Energy, an ally of Siemens, is revolutionizing peer-to-peer energy exchanges, using Blockchain technology, innovating in the ways in which energy can be generated, stored, bought, sold and used locally.

The community of Brooklyn is currently directing the Brooklyn Microgrid project, sponsored by LO3 Energy. The initiative has an application for smartphones that allows communication between neighbors and local companies, in order to find sustainable solutions for the generation and use of energy among tenants.

Consumers with solar panels can sell environmental credits to other residents of the area, who otherwise would not have access to solar energy, without going through the intermediary of the utility company.
