Spain Investing in Industry 4.0

ICOBox Head of International PR Dima Zaitsev shares his thoughts on Spain’s preparation for the future

The government of Aragon, Spain recently allocated over 12 million euros for the development of Industry 4.0. This sweeping initiative includes the latest technological frontiers like blockchain, artificial intelligence and autonomous systems.
Part of the funding was secured from co-financing provided by the European Regional Development Fund. The donation will help develop industrial property and recruit consultants to lay the groundwork for continued innovation.

Much of energy behind the project will go towards adapting digital solutions for industry and small and medium enterprise use. Cyber connectivity is at the heart of Industry 4.0, allowing more processes to be automated, improving efficiency while reducing errors.

Dima Zaitsev, Head of International PR at ICOBox praises the move, “too often we get caught up in focusing solely on blockchain solutions. The next great wave of innovation will be driven by a multifaceted tool kit, with AI, blockchain and automation working hand in hand. Spain’s efforts foreshadow the new industrial revolution.”

In other Spanish blockchain news, the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras signed an agreement to deploy IBM’s Tradelens blockchain platform to help secure and exchange supply chain information.
