1.  The central bank of France plans to pilot a central bank digital currency (CBDC) for financial institutions in 2020. François Villeroy de Galhau, the governor of the Bank of France, announced that the bank will start testing the digital euro project by the end of the first quarter 2020. The digital euro pilot will only target private financial sector players and won't involve retail payments made by individuals. Villeroy reportedly noted that a digital currency for retail customers would "be subject to special vigilance."

2.  Blockchain gaming project Enjin can now boast a high-profile partnership with Microsoft Azure. The cloud service of the tech behemoth relied on Enjin’s technology to create Azure Heros, a reward system for active community participants. Those who make a valuable contribution to the community can be rewarded with digital badgers. These are non-fungible tokens (NFT) that remain unique to their owners. One has to download the Enjin wallet in order to store received badges that can be later transferred to any Ethereum address.

3.  Kazakhstan's lawmakers have finalized a draft law on crypto taxation. Authority won’t be taxing cryptocurrency mining until the mined crypto is exchanged for fiat money. Cryptocurrency mining will not be treated as entrepreneurial activity but rather a “purely technological progress. The bill is currently under consideration with the presidential administration. The bill will reportedly be sent to the Mazhilis, the lower house of the bicameral Parliament of Kazakhstan, in December 2019.

4.  Litecoin Foundation officially announced the launch of the Litecoin Confidential Transactions - a dedication fund to support Mr. Burkett's work . All of the money collected within the framework will be spent towards sponsoring Lead Developer of MimbleWimble (MW) protocol David Burkett and his implementation of the Extension Block and the MimbleWimble code for Litecoin. 5.  It may seem surprising, but platforms designed for loans and lending through the use of cryptocurrencies are a relatively new development for the crypto industry. While lenders have only earned a combined $86 million in interest since 2018, the demand for cryptocurrency loans is growing. In the first quarter of 2019, over 5,400 new loans were issued, and in the second, at least 18,500. The volume of lending also increased, with lenders issuing $64.8 million in loans in the first quarter and $159.3 million in the second.

Bitfinex users can instantly pay for a variety of services with Bitcoin that they hold on the exchange as of today. The collaboration between the two firms will allow the exchange’s customers to buy over 2,000 different prepaid vouchers with Bitcoin. The vouchers can cover the costs of services and products relevant to gaming, dining, entertainment, travel and more.

7.  The past day saw heightened Bitcoin whale activity, with surprisingly large transactions carried by the blockchain. But one particular block stood out. At block height 606,641, the transactions contained within the 10-minute window totaled 903592.118 bitcoin. The block, mined by Antpool, only brought 0.25 BTC in fees. This amount is comparable to nearly 5% of the entire bitcoin supply, and is comparable to Satoshi’s stash. Based on estimations, the blocks mined by Satoshi Nakamoto contain between 900,000 BTC and 1 million BTC.
