Checking Out Indorse, The LinkedIn of the Blockchain

in bitcoin •  7 years ago

LinkedIn and the blockchain, why didn’t someone think of this sooner?

Well someone has and it’s called Indorse.

It’s a decentralized professional network powered by blockchain technology where you own your data and get paid for your contribution.

Their pitch, platforms today own your data and the platform owners profit off that data. Users receive little to none of the rewards. Indorse is a rewards based decentralized professional social network.

The founder is David Moskowitz. He has a lot of experience in building and running membership sites and has been involved with bitcoin since 2013.

It’s very similar to LinkedIn. You sign up, create a profile, and start adding your claims. Claims are your achievements, like earning a diploma or an example of your work. It’s like the skill endorsements you can get on LinkedIn. You can post skills and achievements, link to them, and then have people in your network indorse your work.

After a consensus of endorsement on your claim, your reputation score increases. Both the user and indorser are rewarded in Indorse Bucks. Those can be converted to Indorse Tokens. The Indorse Token can be used to purchase advertising and other services on the platform.

The token sale starts August 8. This is another ERC20 token. One ETH will get you 1,000 IND tokens. There’s 50,000 ETH hard-cap on the sale. All the details here.

Blockchain accelerator Coinsilium invested 100,000 Singapore dollars in Indorse. And it was also forecasted on Wings.

Here is the white paper for additional info.

What do you think, does LinkedIn belong on the blockchain?

bro thats cool mang, I can definitely see a copy of every popular website being made on the block-chain

kinda like computers and machines, first we added a machine to everything, then a computer, now it's time to add some form of A.I or block-chain

Yea, it seems like everything is getting blockchained. Whether LinkedIn belongs on the blockchain I'm not sure yet. I like the idea of being in control of my data, not the platform. But I've read a platform on the blockchain like LinkedIn will have storage issues, so they gotta figure that out.

exactly my thoughts on this as well, but what about steemit?

I agree. I see Steemit as having the opportunity of a lifetime to build a platform for the trifecta of social networking, blogging and professional profile interaction.

Thanks for your efforts, we are always waiting for your new

Appreciate that, I'll keep them coming.

Good luck, God reward you

Indorse is a very cool idea. It seems like it competes with Steem and 21.co for paid contributions to these networks. We shall see which website gets the network effects faster and can grow the user base. At this guess I would say that Steem has an advantage since it has an active community and is attracting new users.

Congratulations @g-dubs! You have completed some achievement on Steemit and have been rewarded with new badge(s) :
