New Image hosting service from Pays Thousands of Uploaders in Bitcoin
Image hosting is one of the latest applications that bitcoin has improved, thanks to a month-old Supload. The actions of advertiser services revenues with their users in bitcoin. Bitcoin.com reached out to Mike Reilly, co-founder Supload and programmer website. He recently announced that his site paid out "nearly 2 BTC worldwide for our users, including many first time Bitcoin users."
Supload is an image hosting service much like the popular Imgur website. It supload allows users to upload photos such as memes and animated gifs to your board, hosting them for free. Users are then given unique links to share or to insert their images into social media sites like Reddit and Facebook.
The main difference is that Supload pays its users 50% of their profits generated from ads displayed on their site. There is a minimum $ 1.00 to withdraw. However, once gains are finalized, bitcoins can be withdrawn at any time, according to the website.
Since payments are usually very small, fees charged for traditional payment services such as Paypal would make the business model unfeasible. Bitcoin's ability to send bulk payments with small fees is what convinced Reilly to help create the site. He said Bitcoin.com:
In the first month of operation, the service is a strong start. "The user base is about 2000 users since we launched a few weeks ago on Reddit," Reilly said, adding that "about 70% of users are active."
As the site grows so much in users and new features, Supload marketing has so far been posting in social media communities that use a lot of images, such as Reddit. This tactic has helped them to find new users both for their service as well as for bitcoin.
Reddit user "ttwtf12" said "Amazing site, this is what got me Bitcoin" after the payment announcement. "It has always been confusing as to how Bitcoin works and hesitated to intervene, but this site allows you to gain some bitcoin first and then see how it will be," he added. Even when directly paying users to use their free service, competition Other image hosts is formidable. Imgur is the largest website hosting online images. Statistical service website Quantcast estimates that Imgur currently has 79.7 million unique visitors per month and 2.6 billion page views, ranking it around the 50th most popular site in the world.
It remains to be seen how many of those tens of millions of people will prefer to do what they do in exchange for Bitcoin on the Supload instead. At least some of them will be introduced to Bitcoin. And who knows, Imgur can start using cryptomoeda to share its revenue with users as well.
Future plans for Supload
Reilly and his partner set up the service to help Bitcoin grow. "The future for the site will be focused on the same goal," explained Reilly. "We started with the goal of making Bitcoin easier to get to users around the world by doing things on the internet that they are probably already doing," he revealed.
He is also planning several updates on the site, including more features focused on earnings. "There will also be a social aspect for the site that will reward satoshis users to complete activities," he said. Once they are ready, the duo has big plans for the service to compete in some other huge markets as well. Reilly noted.
Well friends of steemit to my see a good alternative, since the bitcoin is in high is a new platform of gains.
